Gov't to replace one quarter of official vehicles with electric cars

SEJONG, Sept 11 (Yonhap) -- The government said Wednesday that it will replace up to 25 percent of its official vehicles with electric cars as part of its efforts to promote clean energy vehicles.

According to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the government will start replacing at least one quarter of its official vehicles with electric cars from next year.

Under related regulations, the government is already required to replace over half of its official vehicles with small or hybrid vehicles.

The move is part of efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, it said.

South Korea has vowed to voluntarily cut its overall greenhouse gas emissions by 30 percent from its business-as-usual levels in 2020. (Yonhap)

Now that what i called a good head start and good example for rest of the country to follow

mant country keep mentioning the word save the environment but not doing the actual thing because it cause money

therefor " the word green environment is just …..TALK only.

for the sake of our children and their children please start doing something…….
