Retirement visa renewal

Featured Replies

Dear sir or madam,

I have a retirement visa which expires in November this year. The visa was issued in Bangkok and I have been making the 90 day reporting to that office.

I am currently resident in Bangkok, but I will be moving to the Pattaya area just before or maybe a little after the renewal date of my visa.

My question is: If I move house before the renewal date I can presumably go to the Jomtiem immigration office for renewal and subsequently report there for the 90 day reporting. But if I move house after the renewal date I Will I have to go back to the Bangkok immigration office for renewal? If so, what about the 90 day reporting If I then have a visa issued at Bangkok. Can I then report to Jomtiem immigration office for the 90 day reporting?

Regards,
Nielsen.

You apparently have a one year extension of stay based upon retirement not a visa.

If you move to Jomtien you can apply for your extension there. You will need proof of residence when you apply.

If apply for your extension in Bangkok and later you move to Jomtien you can make your 90 day reports there. You will need proof of residence when you make your first report in Jomtien.

corrected spell check error

You will need proof of reticence when you apply.

This is one of the best "auto-correct" errors ever, especially since the OP is moving to the Pattaya area. biggrin.png

Ubonjoe,

Thanks for that. Concise and helpful.
