Phuket motor registry fun.....

We all know what its like there.....

I've had good days and bad days, but despite the fact that it feels like a military camp run by a 5y.o Ronald Mcdonald, you would think that they could get the information right?

I went to renew my license and I was told just to copy my passport and visa, which I did. She told me to wait at counter 6, but the lafy told me to get a doctors certificate and come back at 9 am.

So I go back and then she says I need a residency certificate.

Anyway imm all done, but the funniest thing is that I went to a different clinic because the other clinic opens after 5pm.... (another issue I dont understand here is the open and closing times + the fact that they close shop for everyone to go on lunch together.....)

Anyway I sat down he wrote my details amd then just checked my chest in 2 areas. I didnt even breathe! He asked for 100 baht and that was it.

Usually I get blood pressure, weight amd hieght checked....

I don't understand how checking my chest without even breathing haa to do with getting my license. Australia is very strict on rules etc and they just do an eye check at the counter.

Also I dont understand why you must be there at 9am to just renew youe license. To do the tests erc I understand.

Double standards if you ask me. I know the head lady is very good there, but the people I dealt with and the whole place is quite unorganized, even though they are trying....

And we are talking about Phuket here. Other registrations in country areas have better english, organization, manners etc....

I think those millions of baht going into the new government office in town should actually go to a bigger immigration and thorough motor registry.

You did not get your papers in order and are blaming them?

Still tests to do for any renewal.

I would of had papers in order if they gave me the correct details from day 1...

If you think its fine there, please explain why. If the head lady served me the first day, I probably would had everything done.

They are trying to be professional and organized, but theres plenty that they could work on. Also I feel they abuse there power being the only place in Phuket to help.

Anyway I don't have to justify myself, I had my rant and enjoyed it.

There's plenty of other posts to read that state similar facts and experiences.

Maybe you went there and everything was fine. This is just my experience that ive had on this occasion. I've been here for years and i haven't seen much improvement.

Haha you must not understand my post.

The information that the 2 ladies were different and the 1st lady was not correct.

Im the customer, they provide the service.

When you order a meal and its cooked wrong or not what you ordered, is that your mistake or theres.

If they said get A B and C. But I brought D and E, I would accept the responsibilty. But I brought what they wanted, once they told me what to bring.

Are you having a bad day or something? Its nice of you to waste your time on this thread, but being a bit more constructive and having a laugh would be more enjoyable than reading what you have posted. Cmon! Doctors check up and they just checked my heart beat.....like thats important!

Go to an Office upcountry. they are so pleased to see anyone renewing a license, cause not that many bother.
