Extension after 3 months O visa for a Maltese National

Recommended Posts

No. The most you can expect is seven days for a rejected application for extension.

OK so can I make a double entry O visa based on having a baby born in Thailand and if I can what requirements? cheers.

I think you have asked the same already. You can have a 60 days extension with you child birth certificate.

Paz.

Ilive in London, and last November I done a double entry, went to Thailand 4 months no problem, last april I booked a ticket for 4 months same last 25 years going to Thailand with a double entry, now the rules for a Maltese passport apparently changed. If I go to Thai Embassy in London with a copy of the child birth certificate, house book copy with my name on it, photo copy of my lady's ID card, do you think they give me 120 days visa on a double entry? The original birth certificate of the child is with her she is scared to send it just in case it get lost. Thanks.

Now that I know that you have a Thai child in Thailand I can confirm that you can get a 60-day extension of stay in Thailand for the reason of visiting your child, regardless the type of visa with which you enter or visa-exempt entry.

It is your choice whether to apply for a tourist visa, for one or two entries, or a non-O visa for one, two or multiple entries. The embassy has listed the requirements on their website, but it is best to give them a call for confirmation.

tourist visa: each entry is good for 60 days, but can be extended by 30 days. So a double entry would give you up to 180 days.

Single non-O visa: the entry is good for 90 days and you can apply for a 60 day exension if the child accompanies you to immigration.

Hi,

New rules on Maltese passports, 30 days for one entry and on a double 30+30=60 and there is no exemption on a Maltese passport.

Seems strange because the only 30 days visa is a transit visa, and there is no such thing as a double entry transit visa.

So if you get a tourist visa it will be valid 60 days extensible to for 30 more.

About non-imm 'O' you can present a notarized copy of the original birth certificate. That is generally done at a local notary / lawyer for a small fee. Some people have even used police stamps.

The visa does not say how many days a person gets. Those from certain countries only get a 30 day entry instead of 60 days when they enter the country.

Interesting that Malta has been included there. Maybe somehow related to this

Even a famous Thai is mentioned as a potential buyer.

Ubonjoe,

I lived in London 42 years OK Malta is for sale if you can afford it but if you want to come for a holiday and spend your money they not going to tell you hey you can only stay 30 days because you are thai, make the visa and lets go.Not only who can afford to buy it is going there, you know how many refugees going there. Going into the Eurozone was not a very good Idea.Besides Malta have discrimination laws.
