So, I presume then from the results, it's not going to happen?

And if it's NO will that be the end of it or will some still push for 3rd time lucky.

Edinburgh say No. That surely has to be it?

Abeerdeenshire No 60%

Edinburgh NO result declared - makes it total NO of 54.67%

Aberdeen NO. makes it a NO. 55.34%

Argyle NO ... Takes it to total. 55.4%

Edinburgh say No. That surely has to be it?

I think Glasgow was the final nail in the coffin

Edinburgh say No. That surely has to be it?

I think Glasgow was the final nail in the coffin

You could well be right, but I like to err on the side of caution..

With only 3 areas left that surely has to be it. Or is it that close?

Fife takes it over the line.

So Salmond has been sent homeward tae think again?

NBC News in the U.S. has Glasgow voting yes but the overall national vote so far as strongly in favor of No.

No: 53.8&

Yes 46.2&

26 of 32 regions reported.

Waiting however for the financial center of Edinburgh to pretty much put it our of the reach of Yes.

I'd be pleased to see Scotland as a whole vote no on yes. wink.png

Each year at a school where I taught in Bkk there was international day with all the flags displayed of the many countries of the foreign teachers. Each year the Scots and the Brits expats waged a mortal struggle over the Scotts hanging out the St Andrews Cross flag as representing Scotland alongside the Union Jack.

The success of "no" in winning the referendum will settle things formally for a while but only for a while and I doubt it will ever subdue the bravehearts.

My god, just now from the Telegraph.....

The City of Edinburgh has said No by a big margin

Yes: 123,927

No: 194,638

Will the last one to leave please turn off the lights, thx.

Fife takes it over the line.

I can't say I am not well pleased that that demagogue Salmond has been defeated!

Referendum declared as a NO vote.

No voters 55.42 % +

Och aye the noo

Salmond speaking now.

Referendum declared as a NO vote.

No voters 55.42 % +

Och aye the noo

Shouldn't that be Och naye the noo

For the time being at least, which is good....

The United Kingdom is safe.
