Will Computerised 90 Day Report At Jomtien be valid if I leave country

Featured Replies

The last time I went to Jomtien Immigration to do my 90 day report, I was lucky enough to be dealt with by the female officer on the right hand side. The one with the computer, who tells you once she has entered your details into their database, you no longer have to bring photocopies of your passport etc... the next time you visit. Great. However, when I leave LOS the next time and return, then my 90 day report will be at a different date than on the document she gave me. So can I still go there and use the form she gave me even though the date and some info is incorrect - or do I have to take along copies of everything again?

Thanks for you help

Not sure how they will handle that. It would probably be good to take a copy of your passport photo page and your new entry stamp with you along with the receipt for your last report.

UbonJoe - thanks for the quick response. I will do that. It looks like I will have to fill out another TM47 form anyway, as the one she has given me already filled in, will be out of date with most of the information. I suppose this new system works well for me if I don't leave the country otherwise there is no real benefit. So when I return from abroad will I have to see her or just sit in the general queue? Just a rhetorical question, I will find out next time I go there.

Thanks again

I wonder why the whole computerized system at Jomtien is still hit or miss on whether or not you get the lady who does the input ?

What happens if during one 90 day report you get her, but on your next one you get one of the males who does not have access to the computer

Can you just stand there and refuse to use them and say you are waiting for the lady ?

Isn't it the case that anyone who leaves before his 90 report is due will automatically have a new 90 day report date based on the date that he re-enters the country? Whether he has gone the computerized route or the paper-based route will make no difference. The passport and its re-entry stamp will have to be shown to justify the changed date on which the 90 report is required.

Yes, this is the case.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

I was previously on the computer-generated report and the lady told me that if I left the country and returned I should bring the same reminder without photocopies and she would just change the dates and other details on the computer.

But Jomtien Immigration lost my computerised reminder slip when doing my new retirement extension recently.

So the other day, 90 days after a re-entry, I went along with just my passport hoping that she would be able to do the necessary. At the front desk they insisted that I fill in a new form manually, which I did, and I presented this to the only official at the 90-day desk (no queue) who just stamped it and stapled the new reminder to my passport without reading the form or checking any of the entry stamps/extensions in my passport or asking for any sort of photocopy. "Come back in 90 days", he said.

YMMV

Yes KittenKong that is what I thought I may be able to do. Just turn up with the form she provided me with and maybe she would just change the information. However, what happened to you also sounds like the sort of thing that would happen to me. I did not mention in my original post that the reason I asked this question here rather than at immigration, is because I genuinely believe the officer on the front desk hates me. He has done for years. Whenever I go there and ask him a question, he sort of snarls and gives me grief. A couple of 90-day reports ago he would not even give me a ticket for the queue - he said it wasn't necessary as there were not many waiting. The girls were giving out tickets though and people kept coming in and my turn never came as I did not have a ticket - so you can imagine the problems I had. I eventually sneaked back when he wasn't looking and got a ticket off one of the girls!

So anyway, I have already decided to just take the info I normally take just in case.

DogNo1. You are absolutely right. However, I am flying out for a week 3 days after my 90 day report. So I could use the same 90 day cycle bearing in my mind I can report two weeks early or a week late, After this trip, I am not going out of the country for the foreseeable future. I know this is not a big deal as such, but being on the computer just makes the whole boring task of the 90 day report a little less hassle.

Langsuanman, it is a good question. Bearing in mind I believe that officer on the front desk hates me - I suspect I will not only not be given a ticket the next time I go, he will give me a queue all of my own for the lady with the PC - in the car park ! Seriously though, I am going there next week for my report, I will let you know what the procedure is.

No, I think he hates everyone equally.
