BANGKOK — Thailand’s police chief has renewed the accusation that a 26-year-old Redshirt activist currently in exile supplied weapons to armed militants who fought with security forces during the political unrest in 2010.

Pol.Gen. Somyot Pumpanmuang said police found receipts of weapons purchases and money transfers that link Kritsuda Kunasen to the members of the militant group, known as the Blackshirts.

According to Pol.Gen. Somyot, Ms. Kritsuda, who is currently residing in Europe, kept records of illegal purchases of AK-47 rifles, RPGs, and M-79 grenade launchers in her home in Bangkok. The documents were uncovered by police during a raid on her residence, Pol.Gen. Somyot claimed.

Police also found records that Mr. Kritsuda transferred up to "hundreds of thousands of baht” to accused members of the Blackshirt militants that were arrested last week, Pol.Gen. Somyot said.

"The prosecution of [Kritsuda] is in accordance with the evidence we have," Pol.Gen. Somyot said. "It's not a groundless accusation, or any attempt to discredit anyone."

Brilliant! Terrorists issue receipts and have detailed accounting records of their arms deals. Really Somyot, surely you can do better than that.

no he can't. that is the best he can do. for sure.

and under the current conditions, it's good enough.

But.....hopefully the cops and military have done their jobs.............

'for sure'?

Anyway, I'll wait for the new developments we'll most likely hear about tomorrow and the day after and so on.

When the man gives you money for an operation he usually wants some proof you didn't just take the money. And, by the way, anytime you transfer money via a banking organization there will be a receipt and records in the system for many, many years.

I think recent history has shown that people don't always have enough common sense to bury the box of evidence on the farm.

I am not saying she did it, but I will say she is going to take the fall and the boss isn't going to come to the rescue.

Note to self....: when I supply weapons and ammo to terrorists, do not keep receipts of said purchases IN MY HOME! cheesy.gifcheesy.gif Seriously, the definition of trumped-up charges should be Thailand. w00t.gif

Are u kidding me. They issue receipts to terrorists for the import of AK47s????

I mean it's almost as though this would have to be the stupidest person in the world just waiting for the police to arrest them and put them in prison.

Police chief rebuffs Kritsuda

BANGKOK: -- National police chief General Somyot Poompanmoung yesterday insisted police had evidence implicating Kritsuda "Ple" Khunasen in helping wire money to the so-called "men in black" to pay them for violent acts during the red-shirt protests in 2010.

He said if Kritsuda, who is in self-imposed exile, issued another video to counter his allegation he would make public further evidence against her.

He said that would be on top of transaction slips and other documents indicating the money transfers that were found at her Chon Buri home.

Somyot denied he had stated publicly that the Pheu Thai-linked United Front for Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD) was involved with the violent protests in 2010.

He repeated that the five people suspected of being men in black had not been linked to the murder of Colonel Romklao Thuvatham.

The Royal Thai Police chief was speaking after core UDD leaders met him on Thursday in an attempt to distance themselves from the men in black.

" He would make public further evidence against her. "

Ever thought of having her extradited and make the evidence public in a court of law ?

I'll leave members to their own ideas on why that might not be considered.

He's making some of the evidence public in the preceding photograph.

Other evidence can be found in the preceding video three posts up.

So prove a case via the media, no need for a trial by judicial proceedings ?

Do you consider that as a country operating under the rule of law ?
