If you cared a bit, you wouldn't be politicizing this tragedy, would you? Taking a cheap shots at old fella for publicly saying that all women should dress up appropriately instead of walking around half-naked will give great comfort to the families of the two brutally killed Brits. I have no idea how you reached that conclusion. My thoughts are ONLY with the families and the fact is the clown PM is causing them extra and unnecessary torment with his comments. How you reached your conclusion that I don't care about the kids and their families because I criticized the leader of Thailand for his comments is beyond me. It's hardly a cheap shot at the "old fella" really is it? He's a buffoon who is clearly out of his depth - and that's not according only to me but himself as well. All of his rhetoric telling us he's apologizing (and therefore a gentleman) because he thinks like a military man is hardly conducive to generating trust nor belief in his abilities as self appointed PM, is it? Yes, he is a soldier and thinks like one. They are not always known for their tact. I have to admit I am not too keen on a military government in any country, but Thailand did need something to happen. At least he gives the impression of trying to wade through some very difficult situations and rectify many things. For me time and the future will tell if he is doing a good job. I am absolutely certain he is doing and will be doing a super job. He has set a great example of taking responsibility for his own actions something that TV posters scream bloody murder about Thai's not doing as a culture, this is a great step forward for Thailand, for anyone with a forward looking thinking process It wasn't that long ago you was slating Thailand in another post, telling everyone on tv you would not be returning anytime soon from the USA. Pray tell me, how did you completely change your whole itinerary so quickly and became so passionate for Thai life ... This is something we do not see very often. Either he is humble, or he is being well advised. Either way, it is a good thing, and it says alot about his intelligence, and his ability to lead. Thailand has had such a shortage of talented politicians and leaders that this guy feels like a breath of fresh air. Very unorthodox, and unconventional. At least he appears that way. Thais don't care what we think, and we can't vote, so our views don't matter. And what none of you seem to realize is that they're all entirely corrupt, by Western standards, all of them - the upheavals experienced by Thai society are caused by the clash of competing elite patronage networks, nothing more. There are no 'good guys' in Thai politics - so passionate attachment to one side or another makes even less sense than allegiance to some professional sports team halfway around the world. This is refreshing and shows that not only do you expect change for the better in Thailand. You lead the way. I for one am very impressed with your leadership and hope others will follow. Please tell the police force to look at ALL avenues in the murder case on Koh Tao and not close their eyes to the possibility that a person or persons of ANY nationality could have done this. He may have apologized in part for his comment upsetting 'some' people, but the damage is done, you know what he's thinking. He could only be the 'best leader' due to his army status and forcing his way in. IMO the most rounded, down to earth leader Thailand could ever hope to have is Mark, but unfortunately this country is just not ready for that quality of statesman. After all he is a soldier and a General. 3 insensitive remarks just this week. Fortunately all these are domestic gaffes. Hope when he start visiting foreign governments, he will be more thoughtful and constrained or he risk creating an international ambarassment. Any one who has lived a life in military command positions is going to have a learning curve in a democracy, however he is a breath of fresh air. Can you imagine the Boss ever apologizing?
