Just as the thread title says.

When I clicked on the advert and went to the site, I couldn't find anything about the 6% term deposit. I doubt that I'd trust it anyway, but I was curious to see their sales pitch. There's another company that has been aggressively advertising on the web for the past 1/2 year or so that's advertising 6.25% guaranteed but when you read the terms of agreement, the only guarantee comes from the company itself and they sneakily let it be known that your investment actually has no endorsement or guaranteed from any government bodies. These types of companies that try to get you to believe that they can give you 2 to 10 times more interest than banks and credit unions, depending on where you live, are just preying on the greedy. I smell a mini-Madoff when I see these ads.
