Bringing Dvd Movies Into Thailand

Can anyone tell me the pitfalls of having DVD movies shipped from overseas into Thailand.

It seems no matter what you do here there are pitfalls.

How about taxes and duties -- I expect the VAT tax but don't know about the duties?

How about censorship or confiscation? These are not porn, or pirated just older movies that I cannot find in Thailand.

I found a cheap site in Canada, but they don't ship to Thailand, so there must be a reason as they ship to Taiwan and Singapore etc.

Hoping Someone can help

I am nowhere near an expert on this, but I can tell you that I have ordered DVD's over the internet and had them mailed to me in Bangkok and never had any problems.

Only problem I ever had was shipping in a big bundle together.

The invoice / description was ambiguous so the customs assumed that this big package contained an actual dvd player and charged me around 30% on the total value.

Ohterwise for just 2 or 3 dvd's its always been duty free.
