Filipino Visit for 60 Days and Airline Ticket

Featured Replies

I have a Filipino friend coming to visit me here in Chiang Mai and staying at my house. He will be coming on a 30 day entry visa exempt status.

Do I understand correctly that he can go to a Thai immigration office once here and extend his stay for another 30 days?

If that is the case, then what about his return ticket? I have understood he needs one with departure date within the first 30 days after arrival. In that case, and he extends his stay for 30 more days, that will mean having to change the date of his return ticket, and I suppose he will have to pay a fee to the airline to do that.

On the other hand, in the light of being able to stay 60 days, could he just buy a round trip ticket with a return date within 60 days when he goes to buy his ticket in the Philippines in the first place?

Thanks for people's wisdom.

Lets move this over to the visa forum. Topic Moved.

They will still want to see a ticket out within 30 days.

Perhaps look for a cheap one way ticket to a nearby country. It might be cheaper than the fees the airline will charge to change flights.
