bananafish
The background in that photo is confusing me, it's making it look as though it's bright outside at 9.45pm.

catterwell
One thing puzzles me about that picture, the text states the pic was taken at 9.45 PM, but looking at the background it is more like it was taken in broad daylight. Indeed so, and the shadows cast from the beer bottles are quite long; I would guess the picture was taken about 4-6 pm.

Popular Post slipperx
Nice looking guy and lovely girl to have their lives end in this way is so sad. May they rest in peace. It has bothered me all week thinking about this and how something like this can so easily happen in Thailand. I have seen things get out of control so quickly here and normally end badly. RIP It can happen anywhere on this planet. Don't, please, just hone in on Thailand. Why not? It happened here and we live here and we don't want to live in a place where murderers are not hunted down or others end up with the blame because of a corrupt and incompetent police force and sick society that accepts the status quo. It's time for justice and the rule of law to hold sway instead of money and corruption. If society rejected it years ago maybe these two would still be alive. Maybe next time it will be one of your children!
TinaKohChang
Does it matter if they were good looking or not ?Would it be less tragic if they were not ? ...why does nearly everyone comment on their supposed looks ? ...that's human nature! Of course, looks don't matter!
Popular Post Beetlejuice
I would like to see the picture of their murderers soon and spit on them. RIP young couple, hope you found a better world to live in. You will, trust me on this one. Those monsters are on the doorstep of hell already. Anyone who has children of their own are grieving over this precious couple and our hearts are souls are with the parents and families at this moment.
Popular Post Thaijack2014
The girl is the same age like my old daughter who lives in Brazil, a country far more dangerous then Thailand. She was robbed twice and had a gun in front of her face... her life could have gone in a flash. But when she lived in Germany, she and her Brazilian fiancée where in a bar enjoying the evening with friends as a group of young delinquents from Turkish or Maroccan origin came in and started bashing around. My daughter got kicked and one of her friends so badly injured that he was in a coma as they brought him to a hospital. When I see the young couple, I feel deeply sorry for them and now especially for their parents, family and friends.... they look like the same type my daughter is... bright, willing to work for their future and be someone the parents can be proud of... and then being murdered by scum that doesn't deserve a space on this planet... scum too lazy to do decent work, that lives of the misery of other people... I really hope they will be caught. They have to get the highest punishement possible... put them on deathrow for many years and let them feel that any day could be their last one.

You really don't want to know the trash that's detained in Dutch prisons, and British, and ........... Scumbags come in all nationality's True murder and crime do happen in places over the world, however this sort of crime where there is a conspiracy of silence borne of fear in many quarters, where Burmese and westerners are arrested because they are who they are, where photos of the victims are taken and used in news reports or where police incompetence is such that crimes like this are often left unresolved or are solved by finding someone to pin the crime on [admittedly as the UK did throughout the 60s, 70s and 80s] are not found everywhere. Yes there are scum in prisons in the Netherlands and the UK, but that's the point isn't it. They are in gaol.

jollyhangmon
It is and both were university graduands (or almost) and had a bright future ahead of them. Hope the sick killers face min life in prison or death penalty. Death penalty is almost to human to do to this scum considered how they killed their victims so maybe better give each 2X life and let them rot in hell for the rest of their miserable life's. +1 Problem is it probably won't fly as we imagine: The last rampant monkey they actually convicted for a similar hideous crime (Vanessa Arscott & Adam Lloyd in '04) got dead reduced to 2 times life meaning 50 years because of him having been an 'outstanding policeman' - well i bet he was. As of early 2013 he was due to walk free in 2022 after further reducings, now that would mean at best 18 (!) years, given the pace of sentence-reducing probably even less ...! Disgrace, aint it ?! Just google 'kanchanaburi murders thai police' and/or 'Thailand's Killer Cops - Kanchanaburi Backpacker Murders' as posting the links would get me post killed again ... Side-note: As far as compassion with relatives and friends of deceased loved ones goes in Thailand... It's non-existent! Maybe because Buddhists believe in reincarnation, I don't know.. Almost three years ago my youngest son passed away here on Samui. I was notified by friends NOT to watch the Samui-tv-channel! They, (the police), showed my son on tv, lying on a metal slab while a $&^$# *&%^policeman was playing (!!) with my son's foot! I didn't watch it, but this has been told to me.. I love Thailand, I love my Thai girlfriend, but I absolutely despise their lack of compassion. But in all fairness, they have the same attitude towards deceased Thai.....

And rumour persist strongly that he is already out, or gets day release. That was an absolute heinous crime, and then add the sickening Kirsty Jones murder which has been covered up, despite even British Police trying to help solve it. Rumour suggests that the actual murderer is a connected person. He British Embassy should certainly be making some pretty strong moves at this point on this.

Popular Post catweazle
Am I correct if I say: 1) The investigation started with the leading police officer in charge giving a racist statement to the press, saying, "This atrocity could never have been performed by a Thai!" 2) Police and other people first at the crime scene have released shocking and uncensored photos of the victims. 3) Police leaked sensitive info to the media. 4) The media put all this info out in the open, including intimate details about in which body cavities semen (asian semen from two different persons!) was found. 5) Police hunts down a british friend of the couple, arrests him and has to let him go as blood stains did not match DNA. 6) Another Brit is hunted, threatened and chased into a minimart by two Thai men, who tell him they would kill him and make it look a suicide to use him as scapegoat. Police questions the two Thais but make no arrest. 7) The two Thai death thread bullies are not even contained, fined, or anything for their crime and refuse a DNA test and police says "Yeah, ok! No problem!"8) Relatives of a very influential member of a Thai mafia circle on the tiny island end up in police focus.9) One of them has "fled" to Bangkok, despite the police boasting earlier that the island was "sealed off".10) Now as the plot thickens, one Thai suspect in custody, one of the run (why?) all of a sudden, someone remembers seeing another Brit 6 days ago with blood on his shirt, but failed to mention it, and (obviously) another scape goat is been taken for a ride... This all said (given that I am correct with the above), would it be true if I would say that the case investigation is led by corrupt officials on a corrupted island with "island laws", made up by a handful of influential mafiosis, in a country that can't achieve anything but chaos and boast about what hub of what it will become next?
