Nationwide Direct Admission For Universities

Nationwide direct admission

The Dean Council of Thailand has arrived at a consensus to allow for direct admissions to various universities in Thailand, a policy to be implemented concurrently throughout the nation, in order to provide greater convenience to students.

Mr. Prachaya Wesarat (ปรัชญา เวสารัชช์), the Dean of Sukhothaihammathirat Open University and the chairman of the Dean Council of Thailand, revealed that the recent special meeting of the council at Chulalongkorn University has resulted in new standards for university student selection procedures for the 2007 school year.

The new policy will set direct admission as the means of entry for universities throughout Thailand, and will set similar application and announcement periods for all institutes.

Mr. Prachaya stated that the new policies should better accommodate students so that they will not need to apply to numerous universities as the new system will allow for nationwide access.

He added that the Dean Council has established a working commission to look after details in this matter, and also to set O-net and A-net examination dates in February of 2007.
