My GF is living in the Philipinnes and I am looking at getting her to Thailand. She is a Teacher there with a Bachelors in Elementary Education so she can legaly work here with the right visa. I was also thinking of getting her here and do a 12 month Thai Course on an ED visa or she would get a job here teaching.

Questions : If she comes here on a 3 month tourist type visa will she need to leave Thailand if she finds work so she can get a B visa or can that be done whilst she is here ?

If she doesn't find work in 3 months I could get her an ED visa...would she need to leave Thailand to do that ?

Any advice appreciated.

Answer is yes, most likely she would have to get the visa in Laos possibly, unless she manages to obtain a visa conversion, from tourist to non-imm, but that is not easy to get.
