Popular Post chiang mai
Yet again I'm going to give a serious thumbs up for Dr Trichak Sandhu at RAM. If you have "stuff" that needs to be removed surgically, lumps, tumors and beyond, the good doctor is excellent, simply walk into ER at RAM and make an appointment based on his working days/hours, found here: http://www.chiangmairam.com/NEW%20CMR/Physician%20Eng/Surgical%20Clinic%20Eng%20.html Excellent English language skills, great demeanor and very professional, he's the doctor I always go to when a scalpel is involved. Today's episode involved removal of a painful surface "thingy", origin unknown until biopsy reports, seven stitches, biopsy, five days of wound dressings and removal of the stitches, THB 4,250 or £80, Time in to time out, 1.7 hours. I ask you rhetorically, how can you possibly improve on something like that. Painless, inexpensive and efficient.
Mapguy
Absolutely agree with the above recommendation. It should be noted that he is a general surgeon who does a lot more than tumor removal. I believe that he is Head of Surgery on the CMU Faculty and practices at Maharaj/Sripat as well. uptheos
Removed my gallbladder via laparoscopy at Sripat 2005 In and out in 24 hours, no problems since.
chiang mai
Indeed I did understate Dr Trichak's credentials, thanks MG for pointing that out, he is in fact Head of the Surgery Department at CMU and his areas of expertise include liver, pancreas and the endocrine system, aka, thyroid +. But I think it's great that we can find doctors of that skill level, in the ER fixing relatively simple wounds/concerns, this is my third time under his knife and it's only recently that I have fully understood what his his standing and skill set is. Brilliant! Edited September 30, 2014 by chiang mai
mesquite
Perhaps the pinned topic of recommended surgeons should be updated to include him in more than just GI surgery, as it is now. That topic also shows him as an assistant professor. Some updating is in order? Edited September 30, 2014 by mesquite

Sparkles
Removed my gallbladder via laparoscopy at Sripat 2005 In and out in 24 hours, no problems since. Nice to hear as I am booked in with the same good doctor for exactly the same op October 8. Always important for me to have feeling of confidence with any medical practioner and he certainly ticked all the boxes during my initial consultation with him.

If you wouldn't mind reporting back your experience, I'm sure it would be appreciated, certainly by me. I'm headed for that operation eventually.

I think it helps somewhat if you can specify the doctor and if you've seen him before and he knows you, unsure. Regardless, the doctors fee for today's visit was THB 2,000, the rest was down to RAM, if that helps.

Cost me about 6500+ Baht at Sriphat to have Dr. Siri remove a simple mole and come back to have stitches removed. 2,000 THB was for "laboratory investigation" even though he said he was 99.99% sure it was non-malignant but that Sriphat required the biopsy for "legal reasons" and it had to be agreed to or he could not do it there. Sriphat is not as reasonable as it was a few years ago... Sounds like you got good value for your money.

A lot more than a similar procedure at the same hospital a couple of years earlier. It was between Xmas & NY. No "skin" doctor at Rajavej, (on holiday?). Could someone point out where Dr Siri's clinic is on Google Streetview for next time. I felt ripped off, & that a specialist would've just said "that's a wart, don't worry", but it was stressing me, & no specialists were available. Take Thapae road to the Moat and head as if going to Walking Street, before entering Walking Street turn right on the Moat road - walk 100 paces and Dr Siri's clinic is on the left side of the street.

Konini
It's good to hear from multiple sources about a good doctor. I hope all sun lovers are taking note of this thread. One of the best things to come from us living in Australia was to have a healthy respect for shade and SPF30+.

But if you ask any nearby Thai resident, they all know him.
