Thirayu was dismissed from civil service after the shooting incident

Now there's a rare occurrence... How often do you hear about that happening to a policeman gone bad?

Are inactive posts only reserved for bosses ?

Someone should give you an inactive post, can't you ever do anything other than Thai-bash?

Are you for real or just one of those creatures from Scandinavian mythology that supposed lived under bridges but have now moved to this forum ?

Does every post have to meet with your approval ? Don't get excited as it isn't going to happen .

Most don't get that kind of sentence for premeditated murder. I wonder who this guy pi**ed off.

Try picking mushrooms in a national park.

How about the medical student who murdered his girlfriend, cut her up, and flushed her down the toilet in 1998? He was released early this year. There seem to be no connection between the severity of the crime and the punishment doled out by judges.

So let's see! Remanded into custody in 2011. 3 years waiting court. He should be released in 2-5 years i am guessing with all the time in jail already.

Do you actually have any evidence to make this "guess" in the way of news reports?

Or did one farang pass this down to you because he knew someone who knew someone who knew....

Its just that this is repeated over and over on TV in the same manner as an "Urban Legend" and I would just like to trace it back.

So pony up. What proof do you have to support your guess, please.

I am guessing that you do not understand sarcasm.

Hope you didn't play the lottery today...its not your lucky day.

Whats the deal with that Guy Fawkes avatar?

I guess you do not understand what a cliche is.

"He said he was drunk and couldn't control himself"

I seriously doubt that he could control himself when he was sober either. Regardless of that: there won't be a follow up in the press when he walks out the back door of his cell in a short time.

Probably because it will only happen in your mind, not the real world.

err.... this may be off topic, but is it a rule that all police no matter what their size are required to wear skin tight shirts? and can they move comfortably? seems like a whole lot of chaffing going on there.

Lots of talcum powder.

There are so many trolls on this forum that I can only guess if it's sarcasm if I know most of the poster's previous posts. I use the /sarc tag myself though, in general, I try to resist my own sarcastic thoughts and not put them in writing.

guessing.......a personal assumption....something we all do...what's wrong with that?

No, we don't all do that, and it is completely wrong. It is only done by the usual ThaiVisa suspects who have some kind of agenda to irrationally attack everything Thai.

Yes, I am "for real", are you?

I don't expect anything here to meet with my approval, as you put it, I have simply commented on the same old irrational nonsense that is regurgitated time and time again on this forum by many people who see nothing but negativity in everything reported here and I think that your posts would more accurately fit your description of trolls than mine.

Thai bash ? Try it mate, you'll start with one (Hopefully deservedly so) and you'll end up with ten on your back ! (Undeservedly so) I've lived here for a long time, usually good fun, but i don't have to like everything Thai, there's heaps that i don't like, but as every Thai says, you can leave anytime, yep, and i know where the airport is......... Just as a side note, most people on this forum, if they've been in Thailand a while, and moved in certain circles, will now of cases of murder, fit ups, cover ups, and heap loads more, just as a suggestion to the RTP, they might like to interview a few long timers to close a few cases, mind you there's plenty of new ones.........

Have you completely lost it??

This is Thaivisa a forum populated by barstool Thaihating posters, who base all their posting on rumour and hearsay or outright lies.

And you have the audacity to come here and ask for proof!!w00t.gif

I have already given out all my gold stars for the day or I would give you one.

I have to admit TV would be quite a boring place if posters weren't allowed to just pull stuff out of their...hat...without any proof.

So from your detailed analysis what % of postings on this public discussion forum are based on substantiated fact, expressions of personal opinion, or aimed at deriding any with a different view.

Can you give us details of your methodology and the full results of your study?

Or are you simply spouting off your opinion pulled from your world view? Which you are entitled to do of course, as is every one else, including those that you try to belittle with your constant and somewhat repetitive Thai apologetic rhetoric.

Congratulations - you are the only poster to consistently defend the RTP. Despite the easily researched history of unsolved, bungled and corrupt, cases, bribe taking, extortion they have been involved with and the utter nonsense they often comment to the media. Can you see the irony of that?

<deleted> are you talking about ? I like lots of things concerning Thailand, i live with one, have kids with her, but there's loads of bad that is brought up on this site that i could write reams over. It's good to air everyones gripes, maybe someone will listen and do something, and <deleted> don't give Thais anymore excuses to lay back and do nothing........ That's why a lot of people vent their spleen on this site, try it outside, and you're not in the land of smiles anymore, however rational your point of view.........

Interesting. You appear on a number of recent threads. Quite a few of your posts are short and either defend or support one of CluthClark's Thai apologist, must love everything Thai, cannot say anything negative tirades. Are you 'friends" thumbsup.gif

I also read the post you refer to to as sarcasm, relating to the tendency to issue harsh sentences that then, through various reasons, get reduced to very small ones.

As you appear to believe you are an expert on sarcasm can you explain to me, with you wonderful subject knowledge, how I may have misconstrued this please?

he won't survive very long in there as a police officer. This country confuses me though, that guy who killed his wife and chopped her up was given a pardon after something like 15 years? This guy gets basically a life sentence and didn't kill anybody

Dont' worry, like the guy who chopped up his wife, this police officer will be out in 5-7 years after a couple govt pardons/sentence reductions and credit for good behavior.

I know a bit about that guy, and even met him. He was a fertility expert and even hailed as a leading specialist in that field as he brought certain new procedures to Thailand. He "allegedly" killed his wife but they never found a body. They found body parts and using DNA tests convicted him. He took her to lunch at a restaurant in Siam Square but before that he checked into a Chula doctors' dorm where docs can sleep if they are too tired to go home. He bought lots of equipment like bags and cleaning materials that he could not explain. He took a large amount of certain medication with soporific properties. At lunch she looked drowsy and when leaving he had to carry her. Restaurant folks saw this. Then she disappeared. Next day he checked in to Sofitel in Lardprao. Body parts / blood / fluids at both the dorm and the hotel tested positive for her DNA.

But they could not nail him until they found he forged a letter from her to her boss saying she was taking time off from work. It was typed but he used a unique stamp. Being a philatelist, he used a stamp that was unusual enough for the police to examine the doc and envelope.

The police were extremely angry at the prosecutors who kept dragging their feet because they just could not make the case, despite the evidence. It was finally pushed through when the father of the deceased got involved and micro managed the prosecutors by hiring lawyers to work for him.

Finally he was convicted, although it took 3 years. He did his time in a special prison and practiced medicine for the state on inmates but also continued his fertility work. Rumors had it that he even helped the son of a person (who allegedly does not smile) who had already had sons with mistresses but no children with the then wife.

People who knew them (that I know) said she was a witch. She was a ball busting nasty woman who embarrassed him many times. Nobody was that surprised about it all.

He was released because he served 15 years, was convicted of something like manslaughter of a lower degree, and practiced medicine for free for both inmates and police and others in the criminal justice system. I forget what the sentence was - 30 years I think.

15 years served for circumstantial evidence with no body ever found.

Perhaps the usual suspects should study up on case law a bit and they would find this would be a similar sentence in Western countries (except he would have lost his license to practice medicine). Kind of blows a big fat hole in that mantra that police never do any time, or was it not more than 3 years?

Thanks for the excellent details, you have a great memory.

15 years served. Sentence was for more than that.

It was the body parts popping up where he was staying and the stamp that implicated him. Also they had no other suspects.

My memory is crap. I only recalled about 20% of the story from when it happened. But I saw him eating dinner with these people I know, although we were at a separate table. So the conversation at our table was recalling the case. Also, as we were leaving he was introduced to my companions as a fertility expert!!!! My companions were/are trying to have kids. And he gave his office number. I think it is a very well known clinic. I don't think they intended to call him, though. heh heh. He was soft spoken and had excellent posture.. Expensive bottle(s) of wine. He just got out like 2 weeks before this. Their table had 8 people - all childhood friends.

I guess it's a good start. I notice he was a low ranking officer....We never see the bad bosses go to jail

Do you know of cases where bad bosses have gone on a drunken shooting rampage?

I believe the poster may have been referring to the RTP upper echelon and their corrupt and illegal practices at best being sown to the "inactive Post". Which by the way under our new PM should be receiving a renovation in the form of a large addition given the many new "discoveries" and public display of the RTP by the Thai Army.

Yes, but its comparing apples to oranges unless someone can show an upper echelon officer committing this identical crime and receiving a reduced punishment.

He said he was drunk and couldn't control himself, an informed source reported.

Hopefully he will learn some self control over the next 57 years.
