Police detain three migrant workers on Koh Tao for DNA test

KOH TAO: -- Police are detaining three migrant workers pending DNA test whether they were involved in the murders of two British tourists on Koh Tao in Surat Thani, a police source said.

Police took the three into custody after they were seen in a footage of a security camera that they bought some items from a convenient store near the beach where the tourists were killed.

Here we go.....

Let's watch and see how this one unfolds.

They are trying to shift it to migrant workers now and the explanation because they were buying something from a store.

Watch this space we are going to hear all the BS in the world.

Very suspicious behavior .... buying something from a convenience store ..... normal people would never do something like that.

Well it was predicted by 95% , a set up it is lol

If I was Hannah or David parents there is no way I could accept innocent people being blamed for their murders

Thank god I only buy things from macro or big-c....

looks like the police have identified appropriate scapegoat (s)

A piece of litter recovered near the scene contains DNA from one suspect, a source...

The trouble I have is that there isn't a convenient store that is what anyone would call close to the murder scene really.

The AC bar is close. The In Touch bar is close etc but not the shop. It seems they are determined to pin this on anyone but a Thai.

A piece of litter recovered near the scene contains DNA from one suspect, a source...

A receipt given to me in a shop which I drop on the floor would probably do that.

why does it have to be near the murder scene, it cant be a few blocks away?

CCTV and DNA,

you think that they are gonna frame innocents?

I don't

What did they buy . . . . . . a hoe?

Collected DNA from 300 Burmese workers. Then find a discarded item bought from a convenience store which matches something near the crime scene what three Burmese bought and hey presto!

Shouldn't there DNA match the cigarette but too?

Damn! It must be hard for them to admit that the victim is not known on this case. They are like dogs sniffing on everyone's hands.

Whatever happens it needs independent investigation by an international police force using labs in the UK to match DNA the UK authorities have from the returned bodies with any accused.

The police here need to be checked and when the cover up is exposed to be prosecuted and jailed.

I and everyone else including must Thais are sick to the teeth of the inept corrupt police and the perversion of justice that is the reality of the Thai justice system.

Do it now!!!!

We all know that the Police will need a scapegoat they can blame for the murders, they will falsify the DNA probes just to be able to blame innocent, hapless Burmese for comitting a murder. Random Footage that turns up two weeks and half AFTER the murder ? Who do they think we are, believers of the unbelievable ?

To the Police, go on, just do it, It is already a national shame and it will be in the press all over the world, and if they sue and death sentence three innocent poor migrant people, their blood will forever stick to the picture the world has of Thailand.

This all is so sad, and so blatantly revealing the true mindset of the people involved.

Sadly I am not surprised, from the announcement that a Thai couldn't do such a thing its played out as expected. Please prove me wrong.

God help them.

Really feel for the 3 who are being brought in, a confession will be extracted guilty or not.

I am sure the big boss has said end it now it is dragging on to long and to many heads will roll if I goes on any further.

Of course not...we're Western Farang's. LOL!!!

Yes, yet again it has to be anyone but a Thai.

I'd be very worried if I was a migrant worker on Koh Tao.

Hope they get a lawyer quickly, I'd be prepared to donate some baht. The guy in the video running with David's pants are Myanmars, I think not.. As said here in a post does the cigarette match up. Is that what they bought?

You have to hand it to the BIB, they are working overtime on trying top find a migrant who might fit the bill

This is a huge story in the UK and will be for a long time. The story of the murdered newly wed in South Africa got a one hour Panorama special devoted to it and this could easily go the same way. That would be devastating for the families who desperately need to move on, however i think this story is going to be pursued relentlessly until a believable conclusion has been reached.

The Thai authorities would be well advised to bring in foreign (UK) help to solve the case.

On a serious note here...enough joking aside, if this is true and that is a big IF, I wouldn't believe the Thai Authorities now to save my life; I'd accept their outcome if ONLY a verifiable and reputable "OUTSIDE" third party got involved to confirm their findings and that they have the right individuals in custody.

That is the only way I would accept this or any other outcome that may come our way.

Very sad but true!
