My upmost respect to Ms Pornpen Kongkachornkiat.
Unlike so many Thai apologists here on TV living on denial with tinted glasses,
who do not want to see Thailand changing for the better,
she tries very hard to
make her society a place worthwhile living in for everyone
and not just for Thais.

Even under martial law and under constant threat to her own safety, she doesn't
stop challenging the "untouchables
".

I just hope she's safe and will not end up like:
Mr. Somporn Pattaphum RIP,
Ms Montha Chukaew RIP and
Ms Pranee Boonrat RIP

I just got goosebumps looking at the latest posting on that Facebook page (you know the one that sounds like a tv crime show).

Those wounds on Sean McAnna (leg and arm) really do look like the ones on David Miller.

What do you think?

Always seemed like McAnna knew a lot about it. I hope that he is still healthy, and I hope he has talked to the UK authorities or he has let his friend down IMO.

exactly.. and i bet he's reading all these posts.

He doesn't have to go back to Thailand if he's scared to, but it would be right if he told the UK police everything he knows.

He could have left the Island right away and told the police in BKK or the Embassy, something doesnt ring true with this pervert.

But that stab wound is identical.

Somebody (who's seen the photos of David Miller's face front and back) please convince me that his wounds were the result of being struck by a hoe. If so, the wielder used only the sharp corner edges each time.

I don't buy it.

He was stabbed/slashed with something.

Sean McAnna admits to being in some sort of accident. Blood splattered all over his guitar. Freshly healing deep wounds on his arm and leg that look very, very similar to those on David Miller.

Come on guys, it's starting to come together. Deep inside your gut is telling you things ain't right here. The picture is starting to come into focus.

If he had managed to land in UK, the police should have hanged him by the balls, and let him have a public interview... Isn't there any journalist who want to know what really happened to poor Hannah and David ???

Guys as i just wrote on the new Topic from a few minutes ago: Just think now:

i have a probably good if not the best question... coz i am always reading about DNA this UK that independet checking that!

they are now the acused and will have a trial date right! so every lawyer has the right to bring expert witnesses into court.. so the easiest way (the UK has her body and the samples of the seamen DNA) is for the lawyer to get an UK expertwitness Scotland Yard or the FBI i read wanted to be involved too and just check the DNA themselves with the DNA of these to guys...

even the worst lawyer in the world would do that ... so we can be sure he will do it... so IF it shows that the 2 DNA samples match also with the FBI or Scotland Yard they wont show it in court (not to intimidate them even more) but we can be sure that they did it even if it will never come out that they did the tests! Probably after all these alligations and bad police work and stuff the FBI or SY will ask the lawyer themselves if they can be of assitance... so i honestly am 99% sure that they will do it... and if the DNA shows that its a false positive it will come out on court day... and if the DNA matches we will not hear from it but we will all know that they did it....

Do you really know the Thai Rules of Evidence that well? Do you really think Thai courts are above corruption? Do you really think these "suspects" will have the same rights you'd have in your home country?

In most civilized countries defense attorneys are allowed to conduct what's often called "discovery." They are allowed to ask for and get anything that might prove something, or even that might lead to information that would trigger more discovery. If the request meets those criteria and they don't get the discovery, they can file a motion for a mistrial and they'll get it.

This ain't Kansas.

You are correct - I am also sure-

here you are in Thailand !

Corruption is on the first place !

Corruption and money is on the 2nd place !

Every Thai like this system, otherwise they would have changed it !

local Thai men snarled at him: “You will die tonight.”

He said they told him: “It was you who killed them. You’ve got two people’s deaths on your hands.

“We know it was you. You’re going to hang yourself tonight and we are going to watch you hang.

“They wouldn’t have shot me - they would have taken me up into the hills to hang me and make it look like it was a suicide.

“So I just ran. I just left and ran.

“I think they needed a scapegoat. I think they might know who it was.”

First agin I want to congratulate TV for keeping this debate open and fairly moderated. There are lots of facts some bull but keep talking as thats what eventually maybe might make some one to do some thing. Its fact that these two Burmese got no legal representation the police say it was offered under Thai law and it was declined as is their right to do. They can not talk Thai my wife tells me and the guy in the white shirt in the reenactment is a translator telling them what the the police want them to do. Really this you could not make up.

also, news few days after the murder quoted the witnesses as seeing/hearing the guitar group singing "western songs".

just google koh tao guitar western songs and every news article will come out

That was news right away when they were trying to pass the buck.

Do you really think those Thai scumbags would be threatening him if he done it? To me theyd have just got him arrested.

Why would the FBI (F'in Bunch of Idiots) be involved in a case with 2 British nationals?

Because they asked to a few days ago.. SY also and im very sure now that NGO will be all up on this Biatch... so i think they will have at least a o.k representation... and again just make the test with an independant lab and we they will know... and the world will hear it if it was a set up or we wont hear anything...

just to add its the media who said the FBI asked... and honestly i belive the media less than the thai cops...

The Thais made some noise about bringing them in and then changed their minds and went with testing in Singapore, if memory serves me right.....

correct !!

They will send 2 new samples of each of the culptries and will ask SGP

to check if they fit !

No evidence that they will send the DNA sample found in the victim !!

The victim sample should be send than by the British Authority direct to SGP !

That would be than an independant check;

But lets also take the samples from the suspected by an undependant international team !!

Will Thai court or police this ever allow ??

NEVER

NEVER

NEVER

For anybody interested in reading about DNA Testing Results Timeline, here's a link and it's actually quite interesting as it breaks down each process with a timeline and continues to the next with an additional timeline etc...until such time they complete the entire process that takes about 54 hours and 15 minutes to complete the DNA process.

http://www.patc.com/weeklyarticles/dna-timeline.shtml

Now, I've also read that it is possible to have results on a DNA test in as little as 2 hours, but Thailand would need the RAPID DNA System that CODIS (FBI) has in the USA...and does not as they have all ready stated that they lack the technology.

Here's a link describing the RAPID DNA - http://www.evidencemagazine.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1115

I want this to be over as much as anybody else, but the Thai Authorities have already earned the award for Non-Trustful Police Force and with as much news coming out about tourism and statements on how KT will return to profitability in the future...after the murders are solved etc... and how they will protect future tourists etc..., it shows that what matters most is the the dent in their pocketbook if they cannot clear this up quickly. I will believe their findings 1000000000000% and PRAISE THEM and donate to the Police Fund if they allow transparency and allow a reputable third party from outside of Thailand to confirm all findings and to match those findings to the three migrant suspects they currently have in jail.

The Authorities word alone now doesn't amount to crap...I'm sorry, but it's the truth!

I would advocate that the FCO issue a travel warning about visiting Koh Tao because of the dangers of running foul of the thousands of Myanmar migrant workers situated there. In FCO's opinion, it would not be feasible for the island's Thai governance to guarantee safety.

That would be pay-back time...

Man i live here for 9 years now and i own a real estate company in thailand (hence i have a lot to do with lawyers) and all these guys who tell u the farang is always wrong thats just BS... one of my best friends is a lawyer and he also says.. the farangs are just scared when they have an accident and just pay or they dont want to go to the hassel of courtdays and better pay 10 000 bath or something to repair the motorbike for example... but everyone can have a fair trial in thailand... the only problem here yes its that they confessed... but just making a testsample and if its a false positive then bring it up on court they can do that

it will be " fair " for you, if you will pay more money than the other !!

Money makes the law in LOS !!

more than 9 years !!

Judging by those pictures he was stabbed by the same weapon, if i was abetting man id bet my life savings he knows more then he is letting on.

I doubt that the Burmese guys could every find a top attorney at any price. It would be nice if the Brits stood up and made some demands about confirming that there is a DNA match between the two guys and the seaman from the woman. They need to insist on transparency.

It's all way too miraculously come together, way too quick, it should be pursued to find out the truth, instead of quickly fabricated lies, just to appease tourist, and the world, save face, since high season is almost here .whistling.gif

Will the real undisputed truth ever be heard, to satisfy everyone, so no more question are asked, like this topic, and many other topics in ThaiVisa, or around the world news is askingwai.gif

Y'all are a hoot. Bunch of whinging armchair quarterbacks nattering about how nothing is being done, oooohhhh they're doing it all wrong arent't they, back in __________ we know how to deal with this, they're taking too long, they'll never find the culprits - what, they've found the culprits and dna tests support that well it's all a sham they are scapegoats it was really the headman or his son or maybe justin bieber was seen skulking about........

I fully expect Suvarnabhumi to be clogged with disgusted farang beating feet back to civilization where they always do it right and the beer is cold and women don't cheat them and and and

<deleted>

At least they aren't whinging about whingers...geez, get a life.

I thought he made a good point. whistling.gif

There's something weird about someone whinging about "whingers," simply because those people express their opinion, after all, that is why this forum exists, it would be boring if everyone had the same opinion. This is one reason we differ so much from Thais, WE HAVE OPINIONS that may DIFFER from the official line and we can express those opinions.

So many calls for an 'Independent investigation' involving an outside agency - obviously a good idea. But when did Thailand ever back off and admit to inadequacy or incompetence ? Get real - they never bring in 'outsiders' .

Thais as a race never admit they are wrong, theyd sooner raise the game to a higher level as they have here.

You only have to look at the murder of Ananda Mahidol to see where cover ups in society come from.
