What about the 2 minutes of missing cctv footage showing that there was 1 possibly 2 people in front of the main cctv suspect carrying a stick like object? ? Why hasn't this been forthcoming ? Have you even seen it?

No, but I have seen the stills.

2 people in front of the main suspect, that equals 3. Think about it?

Only two were there, according to the police. One left before the incident, apparently.

Unless you are correct and there was a third - unknown person.

Why is there any missing footage at all?

Found it difficult to get the jist of most of that blog, the majority of it being in Thai, but I found the part of the English girls handing in the phone to the police after the murder interesting. The comments then went on to say that after the English girls handed in the phone to the police, including the password, the girls then later returned to the UK.

Sorry but I do not believe any of this. If this is true then all those girls have to do it give a statement and that will blow the phone discovered in the bushes evidence right out of the water and would discredit the whole police investigation.

In my opinion unless these so-called witnesses actually come forward and make official statements, even to the main media, and not just on social networking sites, than I am calling trolls on this one

Until something comes along that contradicts the police statements other than hearsay, wild accusations and comments made on social networking sites, than as far as I am concerned the police have conducted their investigations by the book and those 3 guys already in police custody are the actual perpetrators.

OK so what was the blond hair all about ? you know the one. one of those guys dyed his hair blond, not seen a picture of him with blond hair yet.. The beaten up guy who was offered loads of money to convict his friends ?

The trouble is there are more holes in this story than in my pants, its really hard to keep up with all the BIB <deleted>.

Are there any other holes and irregularities you can find in this case, Columbo?

I have just proven that the phone handing in to the police story is a load of old boloney. People are searching for anyway s possible to discredit the said investigation and discredit the Thai police and so far I have not read or viewed anything credible enough that convinces me the police have set up those guys in their custody.

I would never give credence to any theories and so-called witness statements thrown up on social network sites and blogs, which is the stuff most of you armchair detectives are basing your accusations on.

What I said previous still stands, Until something comes along that contradicts the police statements other than hearsay, wild accusations and comments made on social networking sites, than as far as I am concerned the police have conducted their investigations by the book and those 3 guys already in police custody are the actual perpetrators.

3 guys ? so you are at it too .. How have you proven these phones to be different ? in one picture there is a light shining on it, in the other picture there is no light shining.

Tell us what the cops were doing for 2 weeks become deciding these 2 or is it 3 were the real killers, tell us how they managed to miss them out when they DNA tested the whole island (other than those that didn't want to be tested) then get back to your knitting Mrs Marpple.

What is funny is the police never said they found Hannah's phone let alone the one they stated and showed the first day of the investigation. They said they found one of the victims phone. They didn;t say it was hers. It not only could have been his but it also may have been her 2nd phone as it is common for visitors to also purchase a cheap Thai phone to use while here. Based on a poster stating here there is a video showing the phone being collected at the suspects home, the phone found at the suspect's is reportedly a different color and type than the one Facebook Forensic Specialists keep comparing pictures of.

I don't see much complaining in the British media. It seems that they will go along with the story Thai police 'served' to the public. The British government is totally inactive. I'm afraid the deal has been made behind the scenes. This unfortunate affair is coming to a close.

Pair In Court Over Thailand Beach Murders

I think you will find that although the news is coinciding with the police report that the police ARE being pressured by some\many that these men are scapegoats. Surely they would not put another news release out to deny this simply by what us farang are saying.

Regardless if these are the true killers or not. The police own actions in this investigation leave too much room for doubt and disbelief. Too many unanswered question as well as statements made and changred and their own history of corruption lost them their credibility.

I really hope these are the killers. But if not and they are scapegoats then i hope it comes to light and the police are imprisoned as well as the real killers. But being this is Thailand it would never happen. Now the police must back their statements or face serious loss of face. Backing the lie would be their only option.

When it all comes to an end and these Burmy are sentenced it will be forgotten and the police justified.

In the next couple of months people will settle down and stop asking the important questions i have read by some TV posters.

A shame in itself but trur nonetheless.

The Police will be sad because they won't get a share of the head man's 1mBT

What a fiasco, a total stitch up

I've heard some rumours/ gossip from a Thai friend who works on Samui so take it as you should with a pinch of salt...

This is my own interpretation of what she has said

That night a large group, a mix of Thai and farrang including David Hannah and Sean went to the beach after the bars closed to drink, smoke weed, play guitars and just the typical backpacker utopia, we've all seen the cliche a million times...

One of the Thai guys was trying to hit on Hannah but she wasn't having any of it and he started getting nasty. Thats when David stepped in to defend her and the guy having lost face attacked David, other Thais joined in and he got stabbed and killed.

Sean probably tried to break it up and thats how he got the cuts, self preservation kicked in and he ran away.

Hannah watched all this was then raped and killed.

David was stripped of clothes because they wanted it to look like he had raped Hannah and maybe someone killed him for doing it.

A lot of people thai/farang were there and witnessed this happen and the clean up and getting stories straight before the police were 'officially' called out in the morning so know who did it.

But as we can see the wall of silence tells us its people of importance on that island involved, there's a lot of intimidation going on there now and people are genuinely scared.

But same as anywhere in the world people will eventually bit by bit start to gossip and just tell there best friend and so on...

Eventually someone will leave and then talk.

This doesn't make any sense, how could it ever look like David raped Hannah when two other guys semen was found on her body - and none of David's DNA was found on her.

I think your friend is full of BS and is yanking your chain.

I think it's high time for England to get back into the colonizing business again. They could find out who killed those young people, and make Thailand <deleted> about never being colonized in one fell swoop.

send your info to the reporters on twitter and facebook

they have begun to respond to us

I don't have any info its just gossip rumours (no names) but sounds more believable than some of the other theories I've heard including all of the polices, though i acknowledge the story is third hand news already.

My friend wouldn't appreciate me revealing her identity, living just a short boat ride from Koh Tao

Regarding other farangs that know, possibly witnessed it, they probably have worked in the bars, diving etc there long term and can't leave if they wanted to, without feeling they would be killed, i imagine there's a very claustrophobic atmosphere on that island right now.

that sounds a lot like the begiining of the next story, which is the "follow up silence the witnesses murders"

Don`t you believe that the police have all this evidence in hand so that everything adds up? The police have already made it crystal clear that they have all the evidence, including DNA matches, CCT footage, witness statements and even some facts they are not disclosing at the moment for the purposes of not jeopardising the case.

As I have said many times, let us wait and see what further develops in this case, especially considering that the families of the tragic victims maybe reading these threads as the comments on Thai visa have already been mentioned in other news media. Please, give them some hope on the positive side that justice will be obtained for their children and as for the guys in custody, until the police evidence can be firmly dismissed as not credible, than they have the right guys.

why arent any lawyers in thailand standing up for the basic human rights of these two?

do thai lawyers do pro bono work?

is there any thai lawyer with a conscience?

isnt there any organisation in thailand to support and help these two?

In a word NO

i wonder if their own govt via their embassy has / is helping in any way ?

I haven't read anything where an embassy official is quoted as saying anything or haven't the media bothered to contact them ?

You mean why isnt the Myanmar embassy interested in helping a poor work permitless illegal aliens accused of murder ?

The Myanmar Junta regime that have oppressed its own for 60 years ?

The same Junta that is happy to recognise and support the Thai Junta ?

The same Myanmar Junta that gets so much trade/support from Thailand ?

Why on earth would they get involved or care about their citizens abroad and risk upsetting their neighbours when they spend so much time butchering them at home themselves ?

Scapegoats or not, the RTP needs a complete overhaul. If a public survey was hold I believe that the majority of Thais would vote for a complete change of the police force.

Where there is smoke, there is fire

I have never in my entire life of over 50 years seen a police department publicly state that "this time" there is not a scapegoat mentality
