What about those of us who haven't discarded the Biblical God because we never believed in him in the first place?

Why do some people find it difficult to understand that because you don't believe in one thing it necessarily means that you have to believe in something else?

What connects 7 billion people is their common humanity which doesn't rely on what religion they are.
