Koh Tao murder report: Prosecutors seek changes

When the little girl was killed and thrown from the train and the police thumped the accused around a bit for his confession, nobody cared or tried to tuen him into a victim or say his confession didn't count.

Why do so many here want to make these potential killers into victims?

Does Burma not have any violence? Why is it so impossible for some to fathom that these confessed killers could have done this crime?

Now their high fallutin attorney has arrived and started a defense lime every attorney does everywhere. Do the numerous defenders of these two accused always believe what a defense attorney says about their client?

Has anyone presented photo evidence of physical abuse?

I, for one, am pretty sick and tired of your and your fellow RTP apologists just harping on the same old crap.

I'm a reasonable bloke but, seriously, have you not taken onboard that the majority of folk here are looking for justice and for ALL the culprits, regardless of nationality or social "standing" to be brought to book?

If you are a resident in Thailand, like me, then your defence of the RTP is either a result of:

  • your naivety
  • your ignorance
  • your chronic lack of intelligence
  • you being some kind of RTP shill, like your mates JTJ, Balo and the like
  • you just being an azzhole who thinks winding up other TV members over such a serious matter is just good sport
  • you have some kind of vested interest in these two "immigrant workers" to take the fall alone as, allegedly, does JTJ (who is conspicuously quiet now. Maybe he has put his keyboard down and put his brown uniform back on?)
RTP do have a history of extracting confessions under duress. They do have a history of protecting privileged Thais. They do have a long, long history of corruption. They do have a history of chronic ineptitude. Do you dispute any of these four points?

That being said then, why is it so difficult for you and your fellow RTP groupies to understand that we simply don't believe the official story and simply want a more professional investigation undertaken? I am sure that (assuming you don't fall into categories 1,2 or 3 above) that you will agree that the RTP have simply not followed through on some glaring trails of evidence that, should they so so, might incriminate one or more of their own, as well as the real powers on KT?

If these two workers did take part I would like to see them hang, but only once the full story of their part (if any) in the crime is known and that has to include ALL of the participants.

This is not a personal attack, Sir. Keep any reply to the point and constructive. You don't want to engage me in a war of words (or any other) as you would, given your previous posts, really be bringing a banana to a gunfight!

regards

You certainly have an large ego.

"A war of words (or any other)?" What is that supposed to mean? Are you going to throw your keyboard at me?

I have long since made my point clear, Mr 3 posts Johnny-come-lately, had you been around here reading these threads from the day of the murders you would have seen the amount of Thai bashing going on from the start. Claims that Thailand and the Thai people should suffer because of their horrible culture that would allow this to happen.

So I am not supporting the RTP, I am simply not surprised that so many TV members who want justice to prevail as long as its a Thai.

BTW, hopefully you have figured out that about 100% of the information we are disseminating here on TV is rumor and innuendo and misquotes and misinterpretations from News articles, and maybe its just me, but I prefer not to hang anyone on such heresay.

Apparently, since you take such offense at my position, you feel differently. Thats your choice.

Now go talk tough to someone who cares because I most definitely do not ;-)

Not quite sure what the Thai NCHR is supposed to do?

Find out if Human Rights have been infringed or get
confessions of the Burmese, Migrant workers from Myanmar?

Posted

Another thing if these 2 Burmese HAD murdered Hannah then they would blame each other to save their own skin

Both admitting does not make sense when you are fighting against death penalty / life in prison, one would do everything to avoid this

Both these are being forced to say they did it

I read yesterday that they told there Lawyer that they were not guilty. They tell this idiot, WE INSIST WE ARE GUILTY !!! what the hell is that? Everyday some new bull comes out from some idiots mouth.

Assuming the government agent is telling the truth.....

a lot might rest on how the question is asked, and who is breathing down the necks of the suspects being asked the questions. For example, when the Burmese suspects were speaking with Burmese attorneys, and there weren't any Thai officials within punch-throwing distance, the suspects claimed they were innocent. Go figure.

The question posed by Thai 'Human Rights Commissioner' may have been something like this:

"You signed a legal document confession with witnesses. Are you now saying what you signed was a lie?"

OR

"You understood what the document said?" (answer from suspect:'yes')

"Are you now claiming you didn't sign the document?"

The way a question is framed, can say a lot about how it's answered. If I ask you, "Are you a child molester or a rapist?" and you respond by saying, "I take offense sir, that you insinuate I'm a child molester!" Then I can assume, because you didn't deny being a rapist, that you may be one.

Posted

"He said they told him they had not used condoms while sexually violating the female victim, contrary to earlier police statements that sperm carrying their DNA was found on the outside of condoms"

Let me help you complete the sentence:

They insisted that they didn't wear condoms whilst they raped her!!!

Sorry!! just realised, that bit was near the beginning of the sentence - do you not understand what this means?? surely you can't be that ignorant!!

Why is each of your posts so full of glee? Have some respect you are talking about two murdered people this is not a <deleted> game show, there is no prize for thinking correctly about who murdered two innocent people.

SICHONSTEVE is truly a heartless scum.

I'm a very thoughtful person actually!!

Normally you are but not here. I cannot for the life of me see how anyone could accept the police version nor the memorised script that the victims (the accused ones) have been forced to 'admit'.

Pick on two or three of the most helpless individuals on the island, take them to a 'safe house', no lawyer present, threaten (& maybe assault) them with their lives unless they 'confess'. Don't bother, for some 'reason' to take DNA samples from some people not very far from the scene and keep changing the story to fit any inconsistencies that emerge.

Add to that the difficulty of finding an honest policeman anywhere and pressure from above to find scape.... culprits, preferably not Thai, and some people believe it all or most of it.

Count me among the disbelievers.

You demonstrate a serious lack of intelligence bordering on retardation. I can't be cruel, just understanding but, given your (now) obvious shortcomings, why don't you leave the serious discussion to those of us with an IQ over 50?

Hey Sherlock Holmes, Just think for one minute !!!

If you would have an IQ of over 50, you would have realized,

there would be no posts, not even headlines in this forum,

I have been following this from day one but did not feel the need to jump in until I felt compelled after the drivel being spouted by some members.

I post when I think appropriate and when I feel like it.

I am pretty smart (no inflated ego, it's just the right size, thanks!) and can figure out fact from conjecture pretty well thanks. Unlike some, I don't rely on TV for my information. I look to other sources too and rely on my own experience and knowledge.

If you don't care about my posts, ignore them and stop writing nonsense.

If it transpires that a Thai was involved, punish them, ditto Burmese, ditto Brits but, for goodness sake, let's simply have a professional, honest and competent investigation that does not deliberately exclude the possibility of any of these or other groups being involved.

That's a bit tame - was it worth it?

That's twice in 3 postings that it has affected you in this way. Do you nod whilst you type away.

I think the 2 minutes missing cctv footage might be of interest to them ! The confusion over the shorts the Burmese were wearing ie: in photo of the three of them on motorbike all dark, in cctv light colour .

Also the tampered cctv of one of the Ac guys in college Bkk, just to mention a few !

Thats the beauty of the internet forum, on here we have retired astronauts and special ops guys, and there are a few NY DA's and I think Mi5 makes an occasional appearance...so if all you are claiming is that you are "pretty smart" then its a small transgression.

So what other "sources" do you have available? Please do tell. As far as any publicly released information, it is either news media, social media or the occasional KT farang with some juicy gossip. I don't know how you can think any thorough investigation is possible at this point if the claims are true on here that the RTP has contaminated all evidence. How can you have a competent, honest and thorough investigation when every bit of physical evidence has possibly been contaminated either intentionally or by incompetence?

Right now, if the two Burmese original statements are to be believed before they lawyered up, they admitted to the killing. It might surprise some here but true confessions can come from getting a bit roughed up. So can false confession. Its a coin toss which is why I am not sympathetic to their plight at this time.

As for the claims made on here that the killers had an extremely violent nature and so it had to be Thai and it had to be wealthy kids, i continue to say BS. Prisons are full of poor people who committed violent crimes, even in societies with functioning Judiciaries.

I just have a hard time giving anyone credit for being "smart" when all they can do is accuse me of being pro-RTP simply because I hold a different opinion. I do get a big chuckle out of all the CSI:La-Z-Boy investigators on here though.

Declaring ones innocence does not make one innocent.

Not sure about other countries but the US is chock full of prisoners who declare their innocence.

Not saying they did it not saying they didn't.

Only saying recanting a confession is not proof either way.

Since the possibility continues to exist that they did commit this horrendous crime, I am not going to extend my sympathy to them.

I will leave that to the posters here who really want to see a Thai convicted.

That final comment is an obscene statement. Many of us who are reading this thread don't "really want to see a Thai convicted". What we want is a proper, professional investigation that sees the real perpetrators convicted on solid evidence, and not this obviously false, staged farce of a scape-goating where torture replaces professional investigation, and that has blighted the lives of two young people. Anyone with any legal training could drive a coach and horses through the evidence, and how the Thai authorities expect to provide a fair trial after the dubioius re-enactment is beyond me.

It is not an obscene statement.

It is simply a statement that does not describe you.

However, there have been numerous posts since Day One that have exemplified the attitudes of some TV members bigotry and borderline hatred for the Thai culture.

The two young people being the victims of the gruesome murder?

I think this post of Johnson above on page 8 is probably 100% accurate:

*There was an argument in the bar. Mon and co were rejected ( I believe one is police and one influential islander). Later that night whilst on the beach in a group Sean, having been asked by Mon and co for his help, has lured Hanna away behind the rocks so Mon and co could have their way. David on the beach hears her struggle, probably screams and has gone to help and been assaulted with knuckle knife and dragged to the water and drowned.

IMO: correct! Sean worked in AC bar, with a no problem work-permit & visa, is whispered to be involved organizing gangbangs sometimes using KO drops etc. He knows Mon well. Sean is also a convicted weirdo related to child porn.

"Sean who was OK with the girl being raped tried to stop Mon and co beating and killing his friend and has been struck and run for his life also. Mon and co have finished the rape buy because she has seen David murdered needs to be killed herself so she can't id Davids killers. Mon runs the other 2 stay on the island again I believe as police and influential islander to contamenate the scene, remove all evidence of their involvement and help the investigation lead somewhere else, plant new evidence to find a patsy ie cigarette butt of the accused, phones etc etc."

IMO: correct! It explains the DNA on the hoe didn't match David's. It explains the cuts on Sean that obviously came from fishhook knuckle knifes.

"No patsy is easily found so they go after Sean, hence the comment u have blood on your hands when they catch up with him in 7/11 and or the minimart. Fearing for his life and now with witness to being chased and being able to post on FB who was chasing him he calls police. Police come to help and knowing now that he has posted on FB and created a scene have to protect him."

IMO: correct! Sean is now scared sh*tless and knows he will be killed. He became an unwanted witness of David's killing.

"Sean gets off the island with help of journalists but is interrogated on BKK by police. Not because they think he did it but to make sure he Nevers opens his mouth RR the truth. Agreeing to this he is allowed to leave Thailand as are David and Hannah's friends. They have all been told and or threatened to keep their mouths shut."

IMO: correct! Why else let such an important witness leave Thailand with blood sprayed all over his guitar? He had to leave ASAP!

"SteveFong and u people who were there how close am I. I reckon that's it.

What's happened since with BK air and the Uni is just all apart of the cover up money chain etc. Mon was on the first flight out. He was never in school and all of this just goes to show u how evil this whole thing is. Thai authorities are prepared to maybe executed 2 innocent people so 3 weak pric#s could get there rocks off and save some face.

You know the saying AMAZING THAILAND."

IMO; correct! Mon, who was seen on CCTV twice and was out with a speedboat that night. All the rest, the tampering with CCTV on his condo, the Uni conflicting story, the refusal to give DNA is ALL part of the cover up! I also think Mon did it with one or two buddies and I believe the above post, although fictional will turn out to be a 100% correct!

My take at this point?

Forget everything. Stop this three ringed circus. Get a judge with gumption to issue a warrant demanding a DNA sample from "you know who".

Get a DNA sample from "you know who", who still REFUSES to give a DNA sample, or arrest him for holding up a murder investigation. Reason: In NUMEROUS TESTIMONIES from everyone at every location he says he was in, HIS name is mentioned and HE is identified in the events which are indicative of motive, and which lead up to a murder of two people.

HE was involved in an altercation with the murder victims, which equates out to MOTIVE, and as any intern at any police academy will tell you, ALL POSSIBLE LEADS must be investigated to the fullest, including DNA so as to exclude ALL POSSIBLE suspects and to put to rest MOTIVE.

Witness testimonies place him at Uni late and with marks on his body.

And so on and so on.

GET HIS DNA.

Match it with the tissue, hemoglobin, sperm, saliva samples found on the murder victim (Hair, scalp, face, mouth, under fingernails, etc.) as should have been collected, as any intern at any reputable forensics academy can tell you.

Case Closed, and if I am wrong, I will pay myself one million bahts for being wrong.

Flame off!

^^^Why exactly could David and Hanna not have been walking together or seated together or romantically arm-in-arm when they were attacked?

Why does David need to be walking all alone at 3 in the morning on a romantic beach under the moon and stars and Hanna walking alone as well? Especially after they shared drinks at the Bar? You don't think there is any chance that Hanna might have been smitten by the young man who, in your scenario, came to her defense only a short time earlier?

I only ask because the idea they were each alone defies biology.

Thai and foreign tourists are travelling in greater numbers to Koh Tao and nearby Kon Samui and Pha Ngan in the wake of the Full Moon Party last night on Pha Ngan, resulting in two extra ferry trips to accommodate them.

Bunsiri Deowanich, the manager of a ferry company, said there had been a 20-per-cent drop in visitor numbers to Koh Tao prior to the arrests of the two suspects.

A source said that personnel from the provincial port authorities were stationed at all piers to ensure extra security and handle any possible emergency.

Some 90 per cent of the roughly 15,000 rooms on Koh Tao have been occupied, and around Bt100 million would be spent last night on Full Moon events alone, said the source.

Understandably, most people are absorbed in the crime. However there is another web of deceit and lies going on here...

From all reports, this was a very small FMP, even for October. Regardless - why would there suddenly be so many tourists when it is low season?

Yesterday it was reported that KP has 7500 rooms - so now KT has twice the capacity? People would be standing 3 deep in the beaches! Here is yesterdays fairy tail... (Source BP "Tourists Flock to FMP")

"W Thaipanit, president of the TA of Koh Phangan, said the number of foreign tourists was unexpectedly high, rooms on Haad Rin were fully booked and nearly all 7,500 rooms on Koh Phangan..."

The ferry company employees also report very low numbers...

My question to TAT: Why make such obviously false claims - the tourists who arrive here see the reality, and realise they were lied to. They will discuss this and it only makes people lose trust in your newspapers, and your integrity. If lies are so acceptable, then what else are you lying about?

Why try to run a PR campaign? Why not show empathy, sympathy, heart broken remorse and plead with tourists to help these islands overcome such an horrific crime. Catch the real killers, not make matters worse by creating the biggest social media outcry in your county's history.

Nobody is going to be 'happy' with the outcome of this - is it really worth protecting people you obviously should be ashamed of? This is destroying your image in far worse a way than the truth would have. Can you not see that?

7500 rooms on koh Phangan? cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif

In 1980 there was around 250 inhabitants and around 80 "Tourist Beds" in Koh Phangan AND Koh Tao

in 2004 around 50'000 inhabitants and just about the same amount of "Tourist Beds" in Koh Phangan alone.

Now 10 year later there are suddenly only 7'500 beds on Koh Phangan and 15'000 beds on Koh Tao?

So, must be those Taotians who "borrowed" our beds? facepalm.gif

My only question to you is several posters seem to think the police are part of a large conspiracy and have corrupted, contaminated or intentionally replaced the DNA evidence. If that is the case, what good will his DNA sample do?

If his DNA sample is not a match for one of his family members, do you think TV members will accept that at face value or will they accuse the police of further evidence tampering?

To me there are only 2 outcomes:

1. The 2 Burmese did it, or

2. If they didn't do it, they have been placed close enough to the scene and time such that at 4 AM they would have seen and/or observed commotion to an extent much more than they seem to have revealed.

3. a Thai "Boss" lost face and wanted revenge, got his 2 subordinates to subdue the couple, had his way first (naturally), then allowed his lackeys to have their turns and dispose of the evidence. The Boss's family find out and are horrified, send the Boss to BKK and get others to fabricate "video" and "paper" alibis. Boss's family make secret deals with the K Tao police and with the 2 minions, whilst publicly claiming to forget how to get in contact with the relative. Then miraculously the Boss surfaces (on cue), feigning being too busy studying to look at his phone and to notice the wall-to-wall news.

4. Something completely different.

5. The police version is the gospel truth.

I am so thinking along the same line though I would have added:

2 minions got covered during the first round of DNA tests

when the heat started to get too high, they were then scapegoated and made to confess being the sole perpetrators of the murder.

Another thought I had, Mc Senna could have been there, witness the encounter, enter the fight and try to defend them, got hurt, run from the scene, good reason to threaten to kill him afterward..

just thoughts obviously..

Just asking but..........does that statement not sound really strange to you ? I mean insisted ? alt=blink.png>

He, like so many others, is airing in public evidence would should only be coming out in a trial, providing their is one that is.

If the defendents plead guilty, there is no trial. Only a sentencing hearing.

I also think Mon did it with one or two buddies and I believe the above post, although fictional will turn out to be a 100% correct![/background

But if Mon was seen out with a speedboat why on earth didn't he and his buddies not pick up the bodies and dump them at sea? I'm sure daddy would have preferred that to waking up with 2 horribly murdered corpses in front of his club.
