Tourist visa question

Featured Replies

Hey

I just arrived to Thailand, with 15 days visa on arrival.

I have 3 visa on arrival in my passport.

I have some worries about the new visa regulations. I plan to go to Laos to apply for double entry Tourist Visa. I think it shouldn't be any problem getting one.

But my concern is, when I return to Thailand with the visa I heard that sometimes people get refused at the border. They might not like the fact that I have few visa-on arrival in my passport, or that I just had one visa on arrival and apply for tourist visa just after..

What you think about this ? What are the chances or being refused ? I plan to get now a rent for 1 month and live my big luggage when going to Laos. But if I get denied, that would be a problem having payed for the room and having the luggage there..

Thanks.

If you have a valid visa you will not have a problem entering the country.

Since you can only get a 15 day visa on arrival by paying 1000 baht for it have you checked to be sure you can get tourist visa at a nearby embassy. Since you mentioned a 2 entry I assume that would be in Laos.

This from the embassy in Vientiane; http://vientiane.thaiembassy.org/docs/Restricted%20Countries%202013.pdf

Yes I had a tourist visa before, on another passport that expired, so I can do it.

But I heard that were cases where people were denied at the borders, having valid tourist visa in the passport.. They are a little more strict with visas then before.

But I am not sure what are the odds of that happening, maybe some people who did it recently have some more informations..

There are people entering every day from Vientiane and without having a problem.

The only confirmed turn downs were in the south and were people who had just gotten a tourist visa after having a multitude of visa exempt entries.
