JOC
So now the "government" are trying to score a few cheap points on background of this tragic story. The non-politicians from the army are fast learners!!

NeverSure
Since August, someone who IS the law couldn't deal with some low life <deleted> loan sharks? Where I come from we call that "All hat and no cattle."
Commerce
Can you imagine Gen. Odierno saying Obama is trying his best, or Gen. Carter saying Cameron is trying his best? No, didn't think so. Edited October 16, 2014 by Commerce
NongKhaiKid
Can you imagine Gen. Odierno saying Obama is trying his best, or Gen. Carter saying Cameron is trying his best? No, didn't think so. The last two Chiefs of the Defence Staff in Britain didn't hold back in their criticism of the government over defence cuts, sub-standard equipment etc and still being expected to perform wherever and whenever their political masters dictate. apetley
Since August, someone who IS the law couldn't deal with some low life loan sharks? Where I come from we call that "All hat and no cattle." One of the major problems with loan sharks is that many of them are operating with the cooperation of the police who they pay off to turn a blind eye. yellowboat
It will pretty obvious to most Thai people that little good will come of this change in government. They just do not have the ability to govern.
cup-O-coffee
How about forcefully (yet with tolerance and compassion) teaching the people to solve their own problems before they happen, and providing the timely resources for them to do so? I think it was Yoda who said, "rRRRrrrHerherher...Not try. Do." Edit: Teaching a child to say "No" goes a lot farther in their life than chasing the bad people who would tempt them. Chris Lawrence
As sad as this story is, comments from the heads of government don’t appear to be focusing on the economy. They get lost in a story, and can’t see the way out. To help with debt in the country areas, stop spending 72%? of revenue on Bangkok and evenly distribute around the country. Look at ways to increase revenue for the country?

fobuff
It is not the role of the army to solve the people's problem... it is a democratically elected civilian government... not a military junta under martial law and the great leader
joebrown
I watched the Generalissimo on TV this week and was pleasantly surprised by the inclusion of an English translation. What surprised me the most though was the enormous number of topics covered. Each one was allocated a solution, usually with the promise that someone, somewhere had been 'told' to attend to the issue at hand. I have to say that this left me with the impression that whilst the 'master' was talking he might become a 'jack of all trades and master of none'. I hope time proves me wrong for the well being of this country, which is so close to my heart.

EnglishJohn
It is not the role of the army to solve the people's problem... it is a democratically elected civilian government... not a military junta under martial law and the great leader Like Pheu-Thai did ? - taking the country to the brink of civil war with outrageous corruption culminating in the 310:0 amnesty disgrace and forcing this whole mess ?. They will do exactly the same again if the rules aren't changed. Thailand needs people who can think for themselves, not regurgitate meaningless rhetoric like a programmed robot. spidermike007
Go after the bad guys with power. Not just the little chickens. But the big hens. Start bringing down the big guns. If you are really determined to change things here, and make life better for the people, you must tackle the big issues, and be willing to upset the status quo, punish the corrupt and criminal elements within the elite, powerful and rich, and not just jabber on and on and on about change that is not really happening, in a lasting and meaningful way.
