Phuket will hold the Halal Food Hilal Town fair from July 29 to August 2

The island resort of Phuket will hold the Halal Food Hilal Town fair to attract Muslim visitors between July 29 and August 2 in Thalang (ถลาง) district.

Anchalee Wanich Thepbutr (อัญชลี วาณิช เทพบุตร), chairman of Phuket Provincial Administration Organization, said the aims are to promote tourism during the green season, open Thai tourism market in the Middle East and strengthen good relations between Buddhists and Muslims in the country.

Mrs. Anchalee said the fair will feature light-and-sound and other shows that reflect traditions and cultures of Muslims, more than 70 booths selling Halal food and other activities.

Mrs. Anchalee said nearly 100 million baht was expected to be circulated in Phuket during the five-day fair.
