Popular Post Mobi
I wonder how much of the 837 million will actually be spent on the project, and whether the project will be delivered on time and within budget. In a twisted sort of way, it is corruption that drives major infrastructure projects like these. Without corruption, there is no incentive to build anything. Nobody would bother. Without corruption there would have been no new airport and we would all still be trying to jam in at Don Muang.. TIT

Popular Post craigt3365
How about the police control traffic a bit better. Don't allow 3-4 lanes turning from Suk onto Klang. Don't allow cars to "block the box" when the light turns red. The latter was a big problem where I came from until they implemented $300 fines. Enforce the no parking zones. And make mini vans/Baht buses use locations other than the entire slow lane to pick up and drop off passengers. I know, I know...it's a dream.
bangkapi
Chaiyapreuk on Jomtien has been backed up terribly for years. If you go at the wrong time of day you need to wait half an hour to turn left on to Sukhumvit back to Bangkok if you start half a km. from the intersection.

Pattaya28
So we've now got an 810 day traffic jam to look forward to. Grrrrr A great pity Thais cannot understand how to use "roundabouts". So much of the traffic congestion would not happen if only "roundabouts" were adopted.

VBF
Pattaya needs a bypass, not a tunnel. It's got one....the Sukhumvit - you can go from Bangkok, right down to Satahip and wave at Pattaya and Jomtien as you pass, if you so desire. See - I can be sarcastic too! TIT "TIT" You really think corruption in public works projects and construction exists only in Thailand? You really need to get out a bit more. In the US "bridges to nowhere" and similar boondoogles are the stuff of everyday politics. Where are these bridges you are refering to? Thanks for the info. jacko45k
There happened to be 6-12 inches of water all the way down Soi Buakhao yesterday and some of the side roads were somewhat deeper. I worry about a tunnel!
gintis0604
Thai never think on next step, so why should they worry about flooding yet.
gintis0604
There must be someone in City Hall who just want to cause problems for the traffic in Pattaya. Just look at soi Watboon/Jomtien second road cross. Messed up one yea, and just last week they even started on soi Chayapruek!!! That person should be kicked out of office. The PM is welcome to check Pty's administratio.
Cake Monster
With the present administrations inability to prevent, or control flooding, this proposed project will turn into the biggest underground swimming pool in the world. A basic law of physics applies here, and that is that liquid WILL run downwards to the lowest point. Excellent bit of planning
bongoz
And flooding ?? It's OK the tunnel can double as a reservoir during the wet season or even when global warming really hits us and the tide reaches that hi...
