I want this discussion to continue!! I particularly like the "i wouldn't want Bale in my team" stuff and i'm still waiting for MrB to throw his hat in.

Sorry Carms, I thought I had made my view clear.

Bale is a decent player but wildly over valued and not worth that much money. However, if our owners had a knock on the head and bought him, then of course he would get into the team.

Nice waffle there....Bale would be in on a permanent marker with only three other players in your team.

His price now would be interesting though....how much would Madrid sell for do you think?

What do you mean "waffle". It was one sentence and straight to the point. Was there some part that wasn't clear enough for you smokes. If so I'll try and get Jockstar to translate it biggrin.png

bale is a decent playerfacepalm.gif u are wildly pulling your pud, bale is top draw,on and off the pitch, and anything under 80 mil is a snip

give u the tom thumb( the drum), have a look at the t/f prices that are about to be paid this window, makes bale great value

I'm of a mind with MrB. A very good footballer is Bale but I don't think he'd be worth whatever Real Madrid want for him. He hasn't torn it up in Madrid where he has been part of a much bigger puzzle than was the case with Spurs. The way his Spurs departure was orchestrated by his handlers was slimy as Bale sat in the background without a word. Cowardice that.

Plus he is a weird looking <deleted> with an alarming wardrobe.

Pass.

Nah, City will be looking to their Academy rather than spending out the big bucks!!gigglem.gif

I hope we're not linked to Bale as for me he's one of those decent but overrated players, like Beckham was.

Are you saying that he wouldn't get in your team ?

Your query is miles away from my comment isn't it.

I think he's a decent player but overrated at 80m or whatever it was, overrated when he's considered on par with the likes of Ronaldo as a galactico.

Would he get in City's team as of today? Yes I think he would because we don't have a left sided wide player and the only wide player we have is Navas. Would I prefer Bale over Milner? No, as Jimmy always gives 100% every game and can play just about anywhere for us, well.

Ps. Isn't one of the criticisms of Bale at Madrid that he doesn't like to defend...not to good for a player that supposedly can play anywhere leftside.

I'm afraid your waffling old boy,

1. You say "Bale would get in City's team because we don't have a left sided player "

2. You say " you would prefer Milner over Bale"

3. You say " Milner can play just about anywhere"

So why not play Milner on the left ?

One last point, Bale would get in your team, Milner only made 18 league appearances last season, but you prefer Milner facepalm.gif

Not waffling, giving my opinion, there's a difference, and presumably you don't like what you read about an exSpurs player, understandable.

Why not play Milner on the left? We often do, more often than on the right.

I already stated Bale would get in our team so we agree on that, but getting in our team doesn't mean you're a great player, have you seen Navas?

And yes I prefer boring team player Milner to Bale. Still think Bale is overrated and worth only in the 30 to 40m bracket.

Seems that you think we should all have the same opinion of Bale. If I asked everybody on here to name the best player at their own team or at the top 5 teams last seaon or in england, etc, there would not be an agreement, and THAT is the beauty of football. Bet you fall in to the Beckham was a great player camp.

Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign England midfielder James Milner from Manchester City on a free transfer

Good luck to Jimmy. A player greatly appreciated by City fans. A good move by the scousers. City reported to be in for homegrown player Alex Song.

He was excellent in the London game but disinterested like all WHU players in the Etihad game. Got to be better than Fernando.

Milner isn't a (specialist) left sided wideplayer (like a navas or robben) like Bale, but a rightfooted player who did a job for us there or anywhere else...come on you know this already if you ever watch City or Milner.

I do. If we had a chance to buy either, knowing what I do of Jimmy these past seasons I'd definitely prefer him.

Every great team needs a couple of Milners, Zabas, Alan Oakes (google him)...the grit aggression workrate will to win holds a team together.

Don't know if you've noticed but we aren't the record holders of paying the most for individual players. I'm by no means saying we haven't spent a lot but your statement is a tad mis-leading. Highest paid transfer fees by a prem club:-

1 Angel Di Maria - Man United, £59.7m

2 Fernando Torres - Chelsea, £50m

3 Mesut Ozienal - Arsenal, £42.4m

4 Sergio Agüero - Manchester City £38m

5 Juan Mata - Man United £37.1m

6 Rio Ferdinand - Man United £30m

7 Alexis Sánchez - Arsenal £35m

8 Andriy Shevchenko - Chelsea £30m

9 Juan Sebastián Verón - Man United £28.1m

10 Robinho - Man City £32.5m

We don't even top the most wages being paid.

1. Wayne Rooney Man United – £300k-per-week

2. Radamel Falcao Man United – £265k-per-week

3. Robin van Persie Man United – £250k-per-week

4. Yaya Toure Man City – £240k-per-week

5. Sergio Aguero Man City – £225k-per-week

=6. Cesc Fabregas Chelsea and Angel Di Maria Man United– £200k-per-week

=8. Eden Hazard Chelsea and Diego Costa Chelsea – £185k-per-week

10. Mesut Ozil Arsenal – £180k-per-week

And if your thinking "yeah, you may not have paid record high's individually for a player but combined they are the most expensive" well here you go:-

Manchester United have the most expensive squad ever assembled in the Premier League after Angel Di Maria's arrival pushed their combined value over the £400m mark

All this Bale talk is absolutely nonsensical. He doesn't play for us, hopefully we won't buy him (at least for stupid money). So what is the point. I'd sooner talk about someone else who won't be a City player, like Messi.

Now Messi would get in our side tongue.png

Apparently Pelle is going to promote Denayer, Lopes and Iheanacho to the first squad.

Denayer, a Belgian centre-half, was named Scotlands PFA Young Player of the Year this year following the youngsters impressive campaign on loan at Celtic.

And attacking midfielder Lopes, a Portuguese born in Brazil, will also be promoted to the senior squad next season after returning from a season-long with Lille in France.

Pellegrini is understood to also be considering elevating the 18-year-old Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho to the first-team and is likely to monitor the youngsters progress during the clubs pre-season tour of Australia and Indonesia.

Based upon the wages being paid in the Premier by all the Premier clubs, they're being paid their worth.

Not sure where you are getting " he only played 18 Premiership games"; Wiki has him down as playing in 45 games last season for City (of which 32 were Premier and 8 were Champions League).
