Police hunt for Thai woman over missing Japanese husband
The Nation

BANGKOK: -- Police have continued to search for a 47-year-old Thai woman who disappeared after being released on bail for theft on Friday as part of an investigation into the whereabouts of her elderly Japanese husband.

Maj-General Sombat Milinthajinda yesterday said investigators would meet to discuss the case today.

An informed source said police went to Prachin Buri looking for Phornchanok Chaiyapa and her Thai husband, after learning that they went there to visit Phornchanok's eldest daughter, but did not find them.

Police from Bangkok's Huai Khwang station also contacted Bang Sao Thong Police Station officers in Samut Prakan for information about the death of Phornchanok's previous Japanese husband, who died after falling down stairs 12 years ago.

Police ruled that incident was an accident.

Phornchanok's current Japanese husband has been missing since late September.

You don't really think that they are going to tell you that they have taken out a policy on you?

Your own is intact unless you have named her beneficiary.

God I love Thailand !! Another murder set free on bail, immediately

to jump bail, disappear for a while, perhaps money paid to the police,

and then the whole case does the gentle classic Thai fade away...

Reminds me of the case where the Thai couple tortured the Burmese

girl. They were given bail, jumped immediately, and to the best of

my knowledge were never heard about again.

This must be a well worn path. Perhaps a month in a wat somewhere,

a name change, and then carefully back to your original life since in

essence the police have no interest whatsoever in actually solving the

case unless a hiso Thai was murdered....

How many husbands does this women have?

As I recall from the article yesterday about 4, but two of them are either dead or "missing".

You don't even need to jump bail, even if convicted just appeal against the length of the conviction and stay free. This happened a decade back, Thai guy gets, I think 14 years, doesn't appeal conviction, just the length, tries to get it reduced and is still free 8 years later (2011) not sure if he ever spent time in jail. Farcical.

Another murdered foreigner case.

UNSOLVED.

Another thai murderer.

SET FREE .

Another botched investigation.

CASE CLOSED.

They had her in Custody already, but then granted her bail. I suppose that they should have at least finished the investigation before releasing her.

Also considering the amount missing from the victims bank account, they could have asked for that amount of bail money. Would have left here with much less funds to run away with.
