Every innocent man on this planet would give a DNA sample. Especially when you have the support of the cops in your back pocket.

Now would be a fine time for Nomsod (and his uncle and anyone else who should be prime suspects) to give DNA samples. The reason: it's clear investigators aren't being honest about DNA, and they're doing double back flips trying to shield the headman's family/friends. So any DNA submitted, would be routinely and quickly deemed to not match the crime scene. ....maybe as quickly as the DNA from the Burmese was found to match (within hours).

I have a feeling it will be Frustration City for the Brit specialists. Every meaningful thing they'd like to do will be thwarted by Thai controllers (Thais could even teach the N.Koreans a thing or two about official control). I hope I'm wrong. Let's see what ensues in the next week.

Oh? Is it not true that the larger the sample the more reliable the results?

Exactly what type of DNA test will they have run?

While you are about it JD, why no reply to this question I posed?

There is still the question of the third DNA trace found on the female victim's torso. This was confirmed during an interview with police representatives on Channel 3 news - is this not pertinent to the case??

answered 3 times already someone doesn't like the truth. There were 2 types of DNA on Hannah's body. Ask a Thai speaker to watch the interview with you or if you speak good Thai watch it again.

Fong,

You are dreaming. The UK police are here to observe. On their own they will be making no statement. The FO or the embassy will be making statements that match political /diplomatic goals.

I'm usually an optimist. However we got to consider one major fact: it became a national THAI affair and it may have been brought up to the political level. My point is, once "politics" takes over, it's all set. You can rig, fake, manipulate and do whatever the hell you want to. That's the basic ABC of politics. Get over it! It's fact.

Is it in their interest to consult the public and speak out the true facts? Of course not. There are some things going on the background we don't know of and we might never going to know, because it's classified, diplomatic talks. It's in their interest to calm the public and give them whatever they want to hear. The people want to see results and thus the officials are under pressure. So that's what they give to us. Not the truth, but something we might want to hear.

You really think the Thai officials let the Brits stroll in and hand them everything on the silver platter? I think they (Thais) must've sent out a clear sign through diplomatic channels NOT to snoop around too much- politely. Or without sounding like a "conspiracy" guy, they set out a deal. You guys come in, let media go along with you. We're all fine.

Thai to Brits: "Let's not jeopardise our relationship because of SUCH MATTER" or as usually go hard rock solid:

"We have found some British spies, convicted criminals, and illegal activities by your citizens in Kingdom of Thailand. Maybe we have some more information about the Royal Navy, nasty child abduction business etc"

The Brit goes: "Ok, ok, ok, you got us. We still want your rice for cheap price. We like Thai pussy and it seems you've got some more cards on the table right now... We just going to send some investigators... make it look all look legit. Let's settle this as quickly as possible. We have to re-align our assets from vote-rigging on the Scottish independency... We're still busy"

Politics is far more what you see and hear on TV

Bla bla bla.

There will come a point, where the Brits are going to want to see the original samples that were used for DNA, and verify their chain of custody. Weren't these supposedly sperm samples. So unless they got the accused to produce some under duress, these will either match or they wont.

Do you really think, if asked directly for a part of the sample, the Thais will say yes or no? I would say, that diplomatically they will have to say yes. If it matches the accused, they will definitely say yes, if it is a fix up they will say no.

Either way, the mere act of asking will call the bluff of the Thais. Hands up, who thinks the embassy is so stupid they will take everything fed to them at face value? Anyone?

Exactly. So when plod gets back tot he UK he is going to be expected to produce a report about what he got up to. It will have to have something worth while in it,

Limited sample found was likely used up during testing.....

And another angle, which is pure speculation.

Brit Policeman (BP) 'I observe that your media report on the 23rd September stated you had collected evidence to question... blah blah suspect, and then on the 24th I observed that your report stated the suspect was cleared by DNA. Can you show me how this happened?'

RTP 'Report not correct.'

BP 'Which report?'

RTP 'Answer question, already.'

I suspect there will be many 'I observe' questions, and stonewalling responses.

Wow I'm hearing on the wind that a mom n pop shop owner has CCTV footage of an individual on the island the night of the murder that says he wasn't there. I believe the British police already have the footage. Apparently the owner doesn't like the headman on koh tao. He is going to release the footage at the right time. Possibly very shortly.

Interesting, hope thats released for all to see, it will be denied of course but then thats par for the course

And mine

Nor do UK forensic procedures. TIT, and a forensic pathologist was not present when the samples were taken, stated publicly by no other than the most 'respected' (in her field) lady FP in Thailand. It could be considered that all DNA evidence is circumstantial.

While I would like to believe this, I don't because it just doesn't ring true, apart from the owner of the mom n pop shop not liking the headman on Koh Tao. I hope to eat my words, though.

Good news. 2 top homicide detectives and one forensics guy. BUT only 3? Up against how many top police generals inc the Police Commissioner General and the PM. Hope they have serious help from spooky `military attaches and liaison officers`, not to mention reg diplomats, from UK/Myanmar embassies.

Guess `call me Dave` knows what he`s doing. It`s a start.

Record on Thailand tourist murder cases not great to date. See article published 21st Oct,

Since they are here to observe only and not to investigate, 3 should be plenty.

I doubt very much that they will sit still like dummies. There will be questions, that's normal. And it's only the judicial process that they will observe, e.g. the trial, if it comes to that. Other than that they will examine the DNA evidence and the allegations of torture as per the UK's stated objectives.

So please stop beating the same old drum.

People say that this situation has been a skewed investigation and that tourism is marred due to the explosive environment and it's repercussions on the face of Thailand. I was beginning to wonder if there was any corruption possible in Thailand, at that it was indeed this incredible paradise.

DNA has likely been faked, and destroyed as this would implicate the police tampering.

Expect the two boys to be released soon and the real sweating on Kho Tai to begin,

They have one week to let the kids go

Now as I understand you when the two killers are released the real sweating will begin.

Makes sense to me no need in worrying about them when they are locked up.

So you have already convicted the 'two suspects' then, prey tell when did you hold your own court hearing for them?

Rightfully, so much of this case has developed from that single police comment made very early in the investigation:

"Pol Lt Gen Punya Mamen, chief investigator for the murders, said on Tuesday that another man suspected of being among the attackers had already fled Koh Tao and was believed to be hiding in Bangkok." From The Nation 23/09/14

Romans; 13

NIV

Ok, but seems more like a temporally all powerful junta, rather than God, is the authority in this case.

Spring to mind: "We fight not against mere flesh and blood, but against Powers and Principalities"

"Be sober, be vigilant for the devil your adversary is as a raging lion."

and "By their fruits ye shall know them" also seems appropriate.

Oh the darkness! w00t.gif
