basic que re the thb400k in bank account rule

Featured Replies

Currently I have 400k in my standard bank account- the one linked to my visa debit card that I use all the time.

Can I transfer the 400k to a savings account or term deposit that offers higher interest? In doing so will I still be able to show this as proof for my next visa in the event that I have to prove the 400k has been in the bank for 2 months? What Im asking is... can it be any type of bank account to satisfy the 2 month rule?

thanks

Most immigration offices will accept a standard fixed term account that allows withdrawals with no delay and no penalty other than loss of interest when applying for an extension of stay (it is not a visa).

are you saying that a term deposit is unnaceptable?

No

You are just using a different name for the same thing.

I presume this 400k bht has to be in a Thai bank account or will they accept UK bank accounts with the money sat in for some time ?

I think they just want to see the funds in the bank in Thailand, so you can show you have the funds to live here for the year.
