July 27, 200619 yr This is probably a silly question. If a thai gets a visitors visa to the U.K. and the flight is not direct, i.e. has a 3 hour stop in Dubai or Amsterdam, will any additional visas be required? I live in Scotland and have previously flown to Thailand direct from London and then a separate flight to Glasgow. If successful with visa application for girlfriend I would get her a flight “direct” to Glasgow that stops in Dubai or Amsterdam. I’m not sure if she would go through any immigration checks during a stopover.
July 27, 200619 yr Simple answer. No they don't need a visa. As long as they are in transit and not leaving the airport

July 27, 200619 yr No problem.... Over the years i have met and an occasions been asked to help local airline staff in Amsterdam (China Air-KLM-BM-etc)to point some single non angrit speaking Thai femails in the direction of their "Amores"countries. Posted before that one young "nubblie"had a ticket to Denmark but Via Amsterdam and then Sweden (or was it Finland)...but she didnt have a clue... As long as they remain in International (waters)till they get to the final ticket/visa/approved destination then OK. There are some slight exceptions but within the United States of Europe ...OK...........that includes Scotland...
