I think the Thai authorities have a hell of a lot more worries about a few gobby farangs, and you can rest assured anyone deported for having a different view of how things are on the ground, is going to exploit his deportation with the media And a cardinal rule is " always listen to the man on the ground ".

Just think of the negative press that will come in by the bucket loads when " Joe blogs " is escorted to swampy in handcuffs after getting a wee pasting in jail awaiting his flight all because he didn't think the PM was the right man or the Junta are the right people to run the country, especially if he's lived there any length if time to be able to see through " Thainess" ???

I think this " underground movement " is much bigger concern than " joe bloggs" don't you?

They can't track down known criminals what makes you think they can track down a few pissed of farangs??

Correct---a few.

There's more than a few Thais though and they're known to the authorities, but the PM needs to be smarter than they are, a simple " bring it on challenge" face me in the polls in 12 months time and we'll see who's the peoples champion"

Somehow I can't see that happening can you?

The haters will always hate, and they can see your staunch defence and admiration for the man, personally he's not my role model, there's more people I daily more deserving in admiration and respect. But each to their own

He will offer this challenge after the clean up---it is your lot who dislike the guy that have problems, and I personally look forward to seeing egg on your faces when the election results are out. What a sorry lot of losers you are.

All this is for the country --not forget, not for a smuttering of TVF clan posters. And the

remnants of dads army in ISSAN.

See there you go again labelling people as In " your lot" I don't have a lot, nor a clan nor a clique I belong to I am an individual with my own opinions, I don't need to stand in dog shit to know that it stinks.

Keep drinking the Kool Aid mate. I don't believe in false idols either but you have been holding the PM with such reverence it's almost like an infatuation and school girl crush you have on the man!!

So what you got free dental care and that is a big plus for you, well it cost my wife(me) 4000 baht to have her wisdom tooth removed 2 weeks ago so maybe she should have gone to Udon Thani for free treatment then? Why would Frangs get free treatment and not Thais then ?

It's as clear as the nose on your face you were less than impressed with Yinglucks reign, but as you have already pointed out there hasn't been a decent democratic Governemt in the country in all your time here, so what's your benchmark working off ??

What makes you think you will still be around to see any election? What an arrogant statement to make, you mean clean up as in change the constitution AGAIN !! That's not cleaning up sir, that's rigging the game and oh how I'd love to be there to see the look on your face when the house of cards crashes down , so you see I can make broad statement too !!

I don't have a lot, but you seem to have and your not even a Thai and that's the funny part.

I'm not retired either I still work for a living to provide for my family I don't sit back relying on my pension arriving every month if your inferring this with your dad's army comment is relating to me?

Your crazy for thinking DADS army had anything to do with YOU. It was the SHINS reds I was referring to.

My free dental (3 fillings) last Tuesday was not my bribing the dentist--it was just the fact I chose the day that happened to be free for some reason, whether it was UDON or national I did not question. If you do not believe me Phone Udon main hospital and complain that you had to pay 4000 baht for some work.

The clean up is the aftermath of PTP if you had not noticed it needed drastic measures.

My only hope is for good governance NOT solely relying on Thai democracy. The Thai style democracy is not the B and end all.

My school girl crush on the PM ?? speaks volumes for your attitude, we do not have at our disposal any alternative to what we have at the minute, so in these early stages I am not joining YES your brigade and bash the PM every opportunity.

Fair points as always but write off the shins at your peril as the PM still thinks there's undertones there.

I will be critical of the General as I see fit and I will praise him for his positive steps but in recent weeks he's dropped a few clangers and not th ones from outer space either.

He's going down in my estimation as the man to lead Thailand out of the mire, not just mine, and quite a few Thais I converse with in English from time to time don't see him as the prodigal son either and they're not shin supporters either.

A murder he couldn't have personally prevented, and has some more clarification to unfold.

This is where he has failed Thailand----have another beer if this is all you can think of---get real.

This needs sorting and pressure will do it. Not blame him for the counties problems. but who do we blame if not him. The people ?? OR ??

It's so easy to go from hero to zero, his comments and proclamations have been quite outlandish, and his praise for the ineptitude of the RTP by saying they will be rewarded when he's not got the full picture is nuts !!

Other atrocities before the PM were not noticed, OR they were never considered important, all of a sudden they are and we have to blame the PM.

Attitude problem guys, irrational both of you. Peas in a pod comes to mind----like it or lump it.

Name all other murders over the last 3 years that went un noticed. Poor memories again. Use the PM for a scapegoat.

So you can't list 6 positive things that have been achieved.

As for it is against the law, well just read the TVF warnings about what can and can not be posted, that's enough for me and I guess counts as number 1.....

Go ahead, don't be shy give us 6 positives, you may sway myself and others to your point of view that democracy doesn't work or is wrong, oops that's number 2....

He must be getting close to cleaning up 6 beaches.

Maybe but the tuk tuks are already creeping back and the jet skis never left......

^ more beaches then than your booted out lot.

It's not my lot, I can't vote.

People should be able to make their own mistakes, that's how they learn. But that's beside the point.

Most people in this country, Thai or otherwise, myself included, would welcome a REAL fight against corruption. It is crippling this country and it' people.

I think most people here are disappointed there has been no REAL progress made, even with martial law. I think most would agree the first most obvious place to start would be with the BIB. But who police’s the police as they say

The beaches and public areas have been cleaned up (in some areas) and that's great, but very few (if any) of the people in office taking the money have been prosecuted. Most Thai people I talk to consider this temporary.

For me getting rid of the corruption is the reason for martial law, I see no security risks (except for the South and too many illegal guns and drugs). People in power, that are corrupt could easily be tried by a military tribunal for crimes against the State, it really is that simple.

This of course is just my opinion, and they are like A55holes everyone has one...

Well, if you can accept that the children and youngsters of Thailand will be brainwashed programmed to sing patriotistic military paroles in school each and every day, you're more than welcome to enjoy it,...

WE have no idea how deep rooted things have got we only guess. The REAL progress we have to only try to imagine what has to be done to make the slightest inroads.

The police in their vast numbers cannot be sorted in 5 months--FACT.

We all know of named persons we would put on the priority list to punish in technicolour.---But there are millions, so how do you fix this, Single out this national park land grabbing official and you think that a few examples will stop the corruption. I do not think the PM has any chance to do this in the near future.

Tell me this Ginjag did any murders of Farangs in the past 3 years cause Yingluck to go on air and say they need to be better quality, or better dressed or heaven forbid killed maybe because of wearing bikinis??

The topic is about the CURRENT PM something you keep doing to referencing to rhe past one but just can't see through tyke khaki coloured glasses you're wearing!!

You don't think that the unsolvable murder in Chiang Mai went unnoticed too? Your problem is you spend all your time on the political news part and do read all the negatives elsewhere as it's lambasting your hero.

I do like a lot of what you say but the fanboy type of postings is tiresome at times, but as I said each to their own.

Look at a lot of the criticism is coming from various department he is responsible for and accountability starts at the top, and all these things are happening on HIS watch, and as long as he keeps putting his foot on it then he needs to expect the criticism.

I don't suppose you have bothered reading much about the Koh Tao murders as it's of no political interest to you as Yingluck, the Shins, PTP and UDD had nothing to do with it , so it doesn't really interest you much??

It interests me as I have friends there went there on a course back in July and had my honeymoon there ( well my wife was in honeymoon when Inwas on the course)

The comments from the PM lauding praise on the BIB is laughable to say the least, and his spat basically calling the FCO liars is also well documented in Koh Tao threads.

You say you want hold the countries interests to heart but then it means reading more than just political shit mate.

Thers a lot more going on outside of the hatred for the PTP and Shins IF you braved it enough to look at other headlines within the country that doesn't involve politics ?

How about something REALLY SIMPLE, jail the guys at the top and replace them, send a message, it wont be tolerated.

Send recruits and consripts from the armed forces and their respective engineers to upgrade schools, there are something like 2000 schools in this country without electricity.

There's a couple of things to start with............

Pretty sure the PM stated early on in his tenure that anyone not performing adequately under his watch could face dismissal or words to that effect.

tell me this are the mafia jetski operators still on the beaches of Pattaya, Phuket and Hua Hin after the clampdown?

What about the taxi drivers too?

The road to hell is paved with good intentions as the current PM is finding out.

The fact that people cannot speak out without risking he wrath in khaki says it more than anyhing Ginjag it's called suppression, but seeing as you hold him in high regards, have you found the 6 good things the PM has done you were asked for by another poster? ??

Biased maybe but the truth, I'll pass on the having the day off when it's fun reading your adolocent crush on the man 555

Like I said earlier your coming off a very old and grumpy man with no sense of humour or irony perhaps a day off is what you need too.

But I will give you this that 5 months is not a relatively long time to fix the broken things but it's long enough to dig yourself into holes and make stupid comments and remember that "smile " is in between shit and syphallis!! ?

I can only speak for Phuket, the tuk tuks are creeping back, the jet skis just ignored them. I still can't get a metered cab from home to the airport, hardly ever see them here at Kata, still scared of the tuk tuks I suspect. Lots of meetings no action and police corruption is rife.

But the beaches do look a lot better........

Yeah, I think he is finding it a lot harder than he thought, too many fingers in too many pies I suspect........

Half of what you speak about is true.

The taxi to airport with no meter is your problem, Get a price that suits, I get a taxi from Jomptien at times no meter, it is sometimes cheaper.

My reply was a direct response to a direct question, no the situation hasn't really improved, I get a ride from a friend or organize a rip off price as you stated. I can not get a metered taxi to the airport, so what has changed in that regard? And as I stated I can only speak for Phuket...NOT JOMTEIN!!

How long is Ginjag's patience? 1 year,2,5....... How long can we expect martial law and a none elected government by the majority of people in their own country, regardless of whether you think it is right or not, it's their country and if they don't make mistakes how can they learn. Part of the reason they haven';t figured it out yet is because of interference in the democratic process by people that the results do not suit. I quite often didn't like the elected governments in my own country, but it changed when the people got pissed off with it. Where is your patience in waiting for democracy to take it's course and allowing the country to grow up naturally as our own countries did. Sometimes with violence and revolutions, but we got there, it's not perfect but it's the best we have.
