embassy, what should I choose from phuket

Featured Replies

Hi all!

Ive been reading the forum a few days, and I see a lot of topics about different embassy, but I dont know what to do...

Im in Phuket right now, I came from Kuala Lumpur after I had problems to get there my tourist visa.

They denied me the tourist visa and only gaves me a transit visa, although I present all the rights documents (letter from bank, letter from my boss in Spain,flights.... lot of documents to be only a tourist ).

I dont had thailand stamps in my passport, I only have one now.(from the transit)

Now I would like to spend more time en Thailand, and I dont wanna back to Kuala lumpur, people recommend me not going to Penang as well.

Should I go to Singapore? or Should I take a bus to Bangkok and then going to Laos?

What kind of documents I need?

By the way Im from Spain.

Thanks to all and sorry about my bad english!

You should have declined the transit visa because you receive free 30 days at entry, extendable for 30 more. While you can't extend a transit visa and have even paid for it.

You should mention for how long you want to be in Thailand to be given an answer.

sorry I would like spend 2 months more

At the end of your current 30 days you can do a border hop and get a visa exempt entry. Only avoid Ranong to Myanmar, and Dannok to Malaysia. All other borders are fine, but carry Bt 10,000 in cash to be on the safe side..

I am sure that if you were to undertake a search of this forum you would find clear info on which embassies/consulates in adjacent countries were best for tourist visas and which were definite no-noes.

Why didn't you bother to obtain a suitable tourist visa from the Thai Embassy in Madrid before you set off on your travels to this part of the world? You would then have spared yourself all the hassle which you are currently enduring!

Thanks Dad, that was very useful.

No, as explained above 30 days plus 30 days extension at immigration, fee Bt 1,900. If you need more than that you need a single or double entry tourist visa.

Visa exempt entry by border will only give the op 15 days. Suggest you go to Savannaket Lao and obtain a single or double entry tourist visa.

You are correct, I've overlooked OP's nationality. Still 15+30 days for Bt 1,900 can be better than 60 once considering trip cost and visa fees.

From Phuket getting to Laos is a pain, for this reason most people sticks with Penang.

If all you need is a single entry, Penang consulate will have no problem in issuing one.
