Hi, I'm wondering what is needed to transfer a non-immigrant B visa and work permit from one employer to another (schools). Is this even possible or will I need to start over completely and go to Laos? Sorry to start a new thread, but I did a search and couldn't find the answer/ Any help is greatly appreciated! I am in Chiang Mai if that makes any difference. Thanks!

Neither can be transferred. They have to be canceled and new ones issued.

What can be done is that the new school applies for the work permit and gets a application approval letter from the work permit office.

Then the old school cancels the work permit and gives you a letter that your employment is ending on a date. On that date you go to immigration to have your extension canceled and apply for a new one with documents supplied by the new school and the work permit application approval letter. Then you can get the new work permit issued since the old one has been canceled.
