webfact
Slot machines seized in RatchaburiBANGKOK: -- A large number of slot machines were seized when police and soldiers searched two container trucks on Saengchooto road in Ban Pong district of Ratchaburi province on Tuesday night. The two container trucks were halted for search on their cargoes inside the locked containers while passing the checkpoint in Ban Pong. The trucks were heading for Sampran district of Nakhon Pathom. The search produced 112 slot machines inside.Drivers of both trucks said they were hired by a man in Thamaka district of Kanchanaburi to deliver the cargoes to Sampran, and he hired migrant be workers to transport the cargoes. They said there was a car following behind to guard the cargo delivery but it escaped after spotting police checkpoint.Police said five migrant workers were also arrested.Police said gambling den operators are currently trying to secretly transport slot machines to hide at various places in bid to avert being seized after the military junta increased campaign to wipe out slot machines in the country.Source: http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/slot-machines-seized-ratchaburi/ -- Thai PBS 2014-10-
