Public Health says Polish patient has no Ebola virus

BANGKOK, 20 October 2014 (NNT)-The Ministry of Public Health has confirmed that a Polish man who recently arrived in Thailand from Congo has tested negative for Ebola.

According to Director General of the Medical Department Dr. Suphan Srithamma, the blood test has proven that the Polish man, whose name has been withheld, is not suffering from the deadly virus.

The foreign man has been admitted to Lertsin Hospital after his arrival from Congo. Lertsin Hospital, among many places, has been equipped with facilities to care for Ebola patients.

Despite the negative blood test, another test will be taken again three days from now. His blood was sent to the labs at both Chulalongkorn University and the Ministry of Public Health. He reportedly has no fever, Suphan said.

People close to the man have been told to mind how they interact with the patient. The Polish man who recently came from Congo works for the United Nations.

Pro active?......maybe over reactive.......the poor man in question had a normal body temperature of 36.6 when taken at the airport on his arrival. There was no reason to quarantine him in the first place other than fear from where he came from in Africa.

Rather hysterical unless he had been in close contact with Ebola patients.

Of course, sadly, people can LIE about that.
