A truck that dropped its chemical load onto a road in Sattahip caused chaos for drivers. The chemical made the road very slippery and had to be closed by officials.

SATTAHIP– October 29, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 17.00 pm reporters were notified that a tanker had spilt chemicals on to a road in Sattahip. After notification the reporters went to inspect the scene.

At the scene they found a tank that contained 1,000 litres of white liquid on the road and another tank was found in a small canal beside the road. The 2 tanks could be smelt from around 200 meters away and when you got closer the odour caused pain in your eyes. Plus some cars had lost control because the liquid made the road very slippery so the officers closed the road.

Wow!!!

It could be smelt 200 metres away.

What was it?

The fumes affected peoples vision.

This would be a massive story in Europe although they have a habit of ignoring such issues in the States or with US involved chemical companies overseas if anyone can ever forget the tragedy that was & still is Bhopal

Sid,

What was it? Didn't you read the article? It was a "white liquid".

Hope they get a good rain quickly to wash that stuff off the roadways.

And FWIW such events are reported in the US with diligence and full disclosure.

Nothing like taking a turn too fast with a poorly secured load.

The police are hunting for the driver.

No surprises there.

Maybe he fell over and dissolved into the white stuff.
