Have an acquaintance here again for 2 months this time. As of tomorrow he will need to clear up for another month. Not sure on the situation for Mae Sai and what is permissable and if any better benefit than the other choice. His come and go for Thailand should be ok as they are not so many and it has been 6 months since last visit.

Is Mae Sai open, and if so, if they allow him through what will he receive as in stamp? 15 or 30 days?. How much to go through now?

Other option Mae Sot?

Other option is CM Immigration. So he would pay 1900bht and get 15 days? would he then be allowed to get one more extension for 15 days to total 4 weeks?

Unfortunately it is my duty to my close friends back home to care care of him every time, as at certain times this person inevitably with out fail always needs to be taken care of like a child in every aspect; so I would appreciate it if I can weigh his options and inform of what to do.

Thank you in advance,

A visa exempt entry can now be extended for 30 days at immigration for a fee of 1900 baht.

There has never been a 15 day extension possible.

All he has is a 30 day from the airport. So he can get an extra 30 at CM Immigration for 1900bht? If that is the case, that is really easier than before.

The 30 day extension started on August 29th when new rules went into effect.

A completed TM7 application form with a 4cm X 6cm photo attached, copy of passport photo page, entry/permit to stay stamp and TM6 departure card. Nothing more should be needed.

He is waiting for the correct Western Union # so his funds maybe way too short if needed to show today or tomorrow. Maybe all ok and has number today, but I am not lending him the funds if I can help it. Don't want to hear it from the Mrs as well. Sometimes one has to stand on their own.

Thank you for the info.
