Often guys get ripped off by Thai females, this is in part because we can't own land and want to have a house. If the government really wanted to help foreigners (they dont) they would allow us to own land up to a 2 rai or so. This would make it easier to keep possessions in our name.

It will probably happen when hell freezes over.

laugh.png So you and your multitude of 'likers' would, no wait, marry a native simply to be able to buy land here? Bearing in mind the years of horror stories concerning ol' guys and sticky ends, I would have to say you are as stupid as the tourists who continue to rent jetskis even after having been warned, ad infinitum, of possible consequences huh.png

Oh well if they'd let me buy land here, I wouldn't 'ave married that tart with murder in her eyes Priceless!

In Japan, suicide is often used as a revenge. The person who commits suicide names the person that drove them to suicide, and the named people are punished (often legally).

I have full sympathy for all who suffer loss from a suicide, and of course people should be aware of how their actions may seriously depress others, but there's a tradition in Japan of attempting revenge with, "I'll make you sorry for what you did. I'll make you suffer."

I don't think this concept is unknown elsewhere. It's hard for me to read another story of a Japanese person committing suicide and naming who they are angry at without thinking it's just an unfair attempt at revenge.

Maybe they got this idea from the Judean Peoples' Front ..

"A Thai woman, who had taken his money""

A clearcut case of defamation!! We all know that can't be true!!rolleyes.gif

still covered by defamation laws even if it is true. The law stops people speaking out or complaining.

If they wanted to help ... there first priority, and should be, is to Thais. Foreigners already helped drive property prices up despite regulations and they can always buy a condo ... just look at the prices of them around Bangkok which probably has a good deal to do with foreigners being allowed to purchase condos. I think at some point people need to take care of themselves when it comes to thinks like giving a girl money. Most guys who get ripped off would never do at home what the do here with women. I am not sure why they think it will have different results here. Certainly not saying this was the case with this fellow in the OP but when an older male marries a girl 1/2 their age or more, do the really think it is about a physical or personal attraction? Just like in the west, it is about a money and/or security and once that runs out so will the girl and chances are in the west you are going to have paid dearly too before and after it is over.

Nothing wrong with a man going out of his league but he just needs to be realistic and understand why the girl is in the relationship because it is not going to be the same reason as the guy in most all cases.

Also, has the partner got any idea how to run a business.Just educating my partner on accounting, just simple money in,money out and book keeping. When the farang is subsidising, the Thai thinks their making money,no outgoings.

It wont happen because the Thais hate us. Its that simple, but they know these evil women and thier families could never have the lifestyle they want with us. Without robbing us.

They dont want to work, why should they when we are just letting them help themselves. How many men have been robbed like this? And how many Thai ladies have even been prosecuted??

Until we wise up and stop giving in to thier demands it will only get worse. Say NO !!!!

Making a lot of assuptions there STG.Men are their own worst enemy.Briggy's has the answer, put em on the drip. You get a bit of grief, but it's my way or the highway.Occasionly i mention i'm off to Pattaya, then her reality kicks in.

If I was Japanese, I would be very, very, very afraid to visit Thailand!!w00t.gif

Suicide rate in Japan is the 5th highest in the world; suicide rate in Thailand is the 66th highest out of 110 countries per this wiki article.

Seems Japanese are apparently more prone to suicide regardless of living in Japan or any country.

If the "just being in a certain country" automatically raises your suicide chances, then if I was Thai I would be afraid to visit Japan.

In Japan, much like in Korea, killing yourself after a massive screwup is considered the honourable and correct thing to do. It actually helps the family save face believe it or not.

"My son totally screwed up, but he did the honourable thing and committed suicide."

"Ah so. You have most honourable son."

I work in Korea, you should read about the suicides here after a screwup. Dozens of people offed themselves after the Sewol Ferry disaster. Then the sewer grate recently that collapsed during a concert. It goes on and on.
