CRF250L, replacement tyres

Featured Replies

Hi

Ive been running the stock tyres for 5000km, mostly on-road. They still look OK but someone recently advised me that they are only good for 2000km

Replacement stocks are about 2400 for the two.

I guess i want a 50/50 on/off-road tyre.

Ive been looking at Dunlop 603, 604, 605, 606 prices are about 5,500 baht for the pair here in chiang mai

Are there any other tyres i should be looking at? Yes i mainly ride on the road but i want to go offroad and have good traction offroad. I generally drive slowly and carefully on-road so id prefer a 50/50 tyre than a 80/50

Any ideas, prices, where to buy? Im in Chiang Mai.

Thanks

Only good for 2000 km ??? why?? A tyre seller advised that? The CRF has IRC OE tyres?

I've used the OE Dunlops on my KLX for 17 K

I use now Pirelli Scorpion on my KLX there more road orientated but still good for light trails.

Original Equipment

There are more Pirelli's with the name Scorpion but these are the ones I mean: A/T MT90

Use your common sense! What is the tread depth? 2mm minimum for the road. OE tyres seem OK to me but take some running in untill they feel secure.

I think ill stick with the stock tyres.

I haven't had a slip yet (touch wood)

Over 100km/hr you get a tiny bit of tank slap and doesn't feel very safe. But really shouldn't be doing over that speed on a dirt bike anyway I guess.

Im modded and can do 160km/hr but i would never do that

When I had my Dtracker I put on a steering stabilizer and it saved me a few times off roading.

Maybe there's one for your bike?
