I lived in Thailand but moved back to South Africa 7months ago to have my baby here. My Thai boyfriend is coming over in April. If we were to get married in South Africa and I moved back to Thailand, will my son need a visa? As far as I understand, I will get Thai citizenship but what about my son? My boyfriend is not registered as my sons father though, I prefer to keep it that way.

You do not get Thai ctizenship through marriage. You will have to apply for a non-O visa and yearly extensions of stay.

Your child, presuming your Thai boyfriend is the father, will have Thai natioanlity and doesn't need a visa. If not or igf you don't register the birth with the Thia embassy in your country will need a visa the same as you. For both it will not be much trouble to get a non-O visa and yearly extensions.

But once the child is 20 you can no longer get extensions for him based on your marriage. He will than need his own reason to stay in Thailand.
