BANGKOK: -- More rains are expected in the central and northern regions of Thailand during the weekend after the low pressure system blanketing the Bengal Bay intensifies to a depression.

The Thai Meteorological Department said the intensifying storm is moving north and is approaching the Myanmar a and Bangladesh coastlines during November 6-7.

The approaching storm to the coastlines will have impact on Thailand’s northern and central regions with more heavy rains expected.

It warned people in the northern and central regions to be prepared for heavy rains and floods from accumulated rain water in the areas.

High waves in the Andaman Sea are also expected and fishing’s are advised to stay ashore.

Meanwhile the high pressure system which was covering upper part of the country and the South China Sea was also weakening, thus resulting in cool weather and fogs in the morning.

For Bangkok and its vicinities, rains are expected to cover 60% of areas today.

great this is the only way to stop the fun of loy kratong ! I was really looking forward to today

I do like the Loi Krathong but i am always happy when the fireworks stops

Hopefully not so much fireworks this year because of the rain so i can sleep normal.

I'm in hiding after telling friends visit Thailand in November it never rains, well it didnt use to rolleyes.gif

With a bit of luck, coming from that direction, it will rain in the correct places to put some more water in the depleated dams.
