Donkeys

I have seen a bunch of Jack Asses in Pattaya. But they are mostly Farangs acting like idiots. They get away from their home countries and they make fools of them selfs. They have no respect for others especially Thais. Some could be classified as scum of the earth. No one would go to their countries and act as fools as they do. RESPECT is a word they know nothing of.

Four-legged Donkeys and asses, from my experience, are better behaved and possess a superior temperament that some of the two-legged species.

Each day that I interact with people, I try to smile, act civil and project that I am neither a donkey or an ass.

The response ismsually very positive. :)

No i have never been to the horse-races in BKK and also not to a bar in many years. I don't miss alcohol at all but sometimes i drink on party's.

I wonder what horse-races in Thailand looklike though, must be very tough for them to run in the heat.

In Pattaya i only go to resorts outside the city/jomtien and if i go there it is in a group of thai. I have seen all the donkeys in Nana, soi Cowboy but rarely go there, don't know why i should go there again unless there are great restaurants.

So they are in Thailand, not that i want to have one but i think they are funny and usefull. Well if they hate ricefields they can work in construction or in the forrest. I have been to Chiang mai several times but never seen them there. Next time i will go see them.

. sounds like that is a derivative of an old joke about what are a woman's 3 favorite animals

1 a tiger in the bedroom

2 a jaguar(pickup truck) parked in the driveway

3 an ass to pay for the first 2

I know I have seen donkeys here during my stay, just cannot remember where, There are mules that can be seen from the highway, north of Chiang Mai. I doubt they were imported so they might keep some male donkeys around to service the horses that are in the same area.

I see, so they are in Thailand at least but far up North. Strange that they don't let them work like in Mexico. Well i also don't see horses working here, i even can't remember when i saw them. Thai seem to be better with training kwai and elephants.

My wife only knows donkeys from the zoo.

Horse drawn carriages in Lampang city.

Wow, has the Farming section ever gone down hill. 42 posts and less than 10 informative ones. It use to be that in the Farming section, almost every post would be either informative or asking follow up questions.

on the other hand, who is desperate to see a donkey in Thailand

A guy down the road from here has nice ponies which roam as they please and seem well cared for. Every time I see them I remember my dream of breeding Poitou donkeys, which has to be one of the most attractive of the working donkeys. I can see my wife pretending she doesn't know me as I ride side saddle down to the village shop...

I was quoted over ฿300 000.- for importing a male into Switzerland, I imagine that importing one into Thailand would be even more of a financial and bureaucratic nightmare, unless one could import and implant embryos.

There are constant rumours of seeing a 'donkey show' in Pattaya but you never find anything precise about this. So probably no donkeys in Thailand. Why not? Maybe they can't compete with the Kwais that you see all over Thailand.
