Waiting for your next topic.

I can wait.

Time for a ... coffee1.gif ... while we wait.

Has overtones of when the OP was ignored at the BigC @ 7.30 one morning.

If it was an isolated incident I'd agree but they all seem to be ignoring you..................................?

I'm pretty sure, that the people/companies who actually own, the real-estate, hat you show interest in, would love to show you, what ever you want :-)

Try to collect the names, of the projects that you are interested in, and send them and email.

But on the other hand, there is a good chance, that your inbox here, is already full - with offers from various Farang-real-estate-agents (a word of advise though, try choosing one, that actually have an education related to real-estate or also worked with it, successfully in Farang-Land.)

Beats me, why people start doing business with people, that have no idea, what they are doing - the second they touch ground in Suvarnabhumi...?

I have noticed the same several times. They really can't be bothered at all to make money so then i start fuming and walk out.

Also in our local 108 shop last week, i go in there to buy cigarettes, the girl is watching tv on her cellphone and let's me wait. It's a very small shop and after like 15 seconds i just walk out, drive to the nearest 711 and buy a carton of cigarettes there....will never go back to the local 108.

Or at the Toyota dealer where i went to buy a new car, i could buy it any minute if i wanted so...They act like they don't see me, go hiding somewhere....then later i go back with my wife on a sundaymorning and i had a hangover, they played very loud heavy metal music in the showroom..i asked them to put the volume down or play Getsunova, nope....i walked out again and so did my wife who was angry with me for walking out.

Come on man, also i don't have facebook and won't take it...so if company's only have facebook then i will never see their website...fine....no bonus for them.

My theory is that most of the time it's because the people working there don't care too much about their job. Which is why they'll stop showing up in the next weeks before the owner of that car dealer/condo/whatever has to look for a new, unmotivated staff that even at the age of above 30 don't manage to be professional for a few minutes. And then the whole circle begins again.

Sometimes it's because they can't speak English. I have had the same thing happen to me in Japan. The ignore us going we will go away so they are not embarrassed be not understanding us

This attitude is not just a Thai one. I visited a Real Estate office on 3rd Road that is owned by a German and he had a friend visiting him so they were talking in German and based upon the laughter it surely was not business related. He ignored me and my girlfriend and all I asked for was to look at the book where he has properties listed and he couldn't even be bothered to hand me the book

I sometimes wonder how anyone makes any money in this country with the piss poor attitude that permeates most businesses in Thailand, whether it be Realtors, bars, shops, or anything else that is customer service related, Thai or farang operated are the same

I used to work at a high end camera; store professional equipment Hasselblad, Beaulieu, Leica and so on. I got so used to the customers that I could tell with 100% accuracy if they were buyers or not.

When a non buying customer would walk in and ask to see a camera I'd say, "there it is and point to the camera on the shelf."

The customer would then ask me to touch the camera and I'd say, "nope."

Yes, the lack of professionalism here in some businesses can be quite outstanding, both from farangs and local staff. Real Estate seems to be particularly poor in this respect, presumably because no one needs any sort of professional qualification or minimum level of competency to do it.

Some bars/restaurants and other shops can be quite good though, and they tend to be the successful ones.

Has it occurred to you that once you had decided that they weren't buyers your attitude may have encouraged them not to be one?

I've been into shops to buy something, with the money in my pocket, and have left without buying just because the vendor was a prat.

That assumes I was not an expert. I was. I was a broker in Chicago once upon a time. I dressed well. When I walked in Gucci to look no clerks paid any attention to me. When I walked in with my mother we had everyone in the store all over us. Mom was a rich old woman.

At my camera shop I was the leading salesperson because I could pick out a customer and spent the required time with him or her to the exclusion of the people who were not going to buy.

My little story was not meant to blow my horn but to explain why the real estate people paid him no attention.

The OP thought it was because the salesperson was Thai. I'm suggesting it was because of him.

Some years back I was buying a car in the UK. The pompous salesman obviously didn't think i looked as a serious buyer and was pretty up himself. I left, drove to the next Audi delearship and purchased a brand new TT cash. <deleted> him. I enjoyed driving the car over there a week later. Look on his face was priceless.Don't always judge on initial appearances.; some of the wealthiest people i know certainly look pretty ordinary and sone out right scruffy

Never tell a car salesman you are paying cash. They might chase you out of the salesroom.

Not saying you did but any good salesman can tell the difference between a buyer and a looker by more than clothes.

Hired staff probably are on a salary of >30 thousand baht.

Suit or not, facebook would obviously take priority.

Which if you really think about it, is an underlying problem that causes many of Thailand's problems. Mind you, not you wearing a suit ( Indian made?) but low wages. Police receive paltry renumeration, hence wide spread corruption. Builders are simply coolie like labourers (sic) so hence poor workmanship etc. all the way down the line. I bet if that skank was going to make 200 000 k commission of your loose spending she would have been all over you even more so than your (expensive?) suit!>!>!

Anyway props for wearing a suit in pattaya. hot as <deleted>

I once needed to buy a new wardrobe of high end clothes. I went to one or the fanciest stores in town, but they took one look at the way I was currently dressed and told me to get out.

I ended buying what I needed at another store and on the way home looked in on the first place and waved all my parcels of new gear at them. I asked if they worked on commission, and said "Big Mistake, Huge!"

You might want to delve into police loans and pension and health insurance plans. Cops are on the take everywhere no matter how much paid. Read the news; I won't bore you with posting stories from every newspaper in the world.

Not where i come from. I think it is about time that you let go of....how it is, according to you, in the US of A....it is similar in the rest of the world. There are civilized nations despite of what you might think.
