Told with condo have 5 million third party liability? Doubt it on 2,700 baht annual premium.

What's one too do if they are struck by a car, bike or golf ball? My medical coverage on a first class policy limits are so low! Want to buy a supplemental policy for sporting accident, motorcycle accident or car damage to cover me and injured party. Want no less than than 10 million excess umbrella, to avoid purchasing a expensive stand alone health policy for my family members.

What do you suppose I can purchase. God forgive if a drunk unlicensed motorist or sick person jumps in front of my vehicle want peace of mind, since I plan to retire here now!

Want that excess to insure my peace of mind, I do not drink or do drugs so no high risk driver here.

Thanks for my Forum readers feedback!

Pacific Cross Health Insurance offers stand-alone Personal Accident policies with a range of different levels of cover up to a sum insured of 5 million baht payable upon death or permanent disability resulting from an accident.

This is personal coverage for you (or whoever is the insured person) and doesn't extend to any third party who may be injured as a result of your actions.

There are no medical questions/examinations and ages 25-75 can be covered under this plan (there's a lower end version available from age 18). Cover is available to people who fit what insurers deem to be 'Class 1' occupations which can be summarised as basically indoor work that doesn't involve operating machinery classed as dangerous. Students, housewives and retired persons also come under this category.

The 5 million baht policy level adds a 2.5 million cover for death/permanent disability resulting from physical assault (which by definition is not an accident) and limits the maximum claim to 1 million if the accident occurs while you are driving or riding a motorcycle. Additionally there is 150k cover for medical expenses incurred as a result of an accident; 250k if that involves broken bones, serious burns or internal injuries, and 80k for dental treatment (those figures are all on a 'per accident' basis).

If you are between 25-60 the annual premium is 14,999 baht (more expensive between 61-75). You can choose 1, 2, or 3 million in cover rather than the 5 million and the cost is proportionally lower.

More detailed information can be found at this link. You can apply through your Thai based insurance broker (in common with most countries offshore brokers are prohibited from being able to sell products from insurance companies licensed in Thailand) or you can get a quote/apply directly with Pacific Cross Health Insurance by following this link.

I hope that helps answer your question.
