I see some Farang woman in Thailand every once in a while.

As we pass each other walking I say hi as just a nice gesture because we are two foreigners in Thailand.

I get a cold look back or no response at all? Why is that? Are you too good to say hi back?

I find that white woman think if they come to Thailand they are better then us men but if a man comes to Thailand he is just a trashy sex tourist.

Why is there this attitude? At the end of the day who cares just curious.

this is possibly one of the reasons that so many men travel to the Asian countries to seek partners

its wrong to generalize but uk women do seem to have a very hi so opinion of themselves

with there ranking especially in the beauty stakes

whilst i am in the elderly category and am more than happy with my lot here so i am not in the running for any extra curricular

i do have good eyesight and what i do see of fallang women its hardly in the eye candy league

OP, I've got a different experience than yours, where I live.

We have some nice and cute farang teachers around that always say hello to me when we meet.

Sometimes engage to a conversation.

Nothing like the miserable git, I met in Tesco.

The only problem, they are too young for me and I don't think I will ever charm them enough.

But, I can always dream and hope......................

You could always show them your pompoms

MMMMMMMMMMMM you wish

Given the quality of single farang men that tend to end up here, I highly doubt anyone particularly aspires to meet them except for financial gain.

I work behind the checkout counter in a shop with mostly Westerners. Most Farang women are pleasant enough to me. Maybe they don't feel threatened, because of the surroundings and because I am not hitting on them.

Some guys and girls are so full of themselves that they think being rude is their right. Don't pay any attention to these kind as I am sure they are rude to everyone the same.

There are however many strange looking farang here in Thailand that I too would ignore... Look in the mirror and see if you fit the image :)

Yes, in that situation they probably would be friendly, but out on the street they might be more cautious.

I never had any problem meeting men in Thailand, but they bored me.

.

English is a great language. There's significant difference between the words "but," and "and."

Patsy chose the right word.

I think if you can control the urges and stop licking your eyebrows, you may get a bit more than just a hello.

It's not the women; it's foreigners in general. Many of em try to pretend they don't see other foreigners. Or maybe they don't care. I'm like you though. When I see another foreigner outside a tourist area I usually give em a nod or say "hello", but most of the time I get a strange look or no response at all.

That being said, most of the western women I know don't like it here. They get lonely and don't know how to handle the lack of attention from men. They also get very frustrated and annoyed with seeing the overt prostitution.

Last week I saw about 10 farangs. There seems to be more in Chonburi these days. Only 1 returned a smile.

Only one was female she didn't return a smile. She looked like an TEFL'er on her way to work, maybe she was late for work or maybe she was rude. Don't know , don't care.

So that makes at about 8 men and one woman in a week that didn't return a smile. Oh man smiled at me first but I didn't click until he had gone past so maybe he thought I was rude.

Met farang women who can't stop talking to you, many that are on the pull and some like the above.

There are many farangs here with social issues or superiority complexes , some that don't want to be bothered, some that have experienced tedious drunk or not drunk farang bores or farang con-artists.

It's not just women.

Really? Most of the western women I know love it here. They don't seem to suffer from a lack of attention by men, either.

Maybe we're meeting different women, but I've never met one that had lived here more than two years. And many were ready to leave after one. Most more or less starved for a little sack time too.

But how many people do you really connect with back home? Yes, it'd be nice if we all gave each other some kind of greeting. Something to signify we see each other and acknowledge we are both alone amongst a sea of people that largely don't understand us. But as you indicated, there are a few <deleted> here, so maybe you're better off letting em pass by undetected. It's best to just be yourself and look for the people that meet your eyes.
