PTT tackles 'distorted information' on social media

The Nation

BANGKOK: -- PTT Group has filed lawsuits against several individuals including former finance minister Thirachai Phuvanatnaranubala for posting "distorted" information concerning the underwater natural gas pipeline.

Pailin Chuchottaworn, president and CEO of PTT, said that these individuals’ posting on social media stated that PTT submitted false document regarding its rights over the pipeline.

He insisted that the lawsuits are not personal. Opinions can differ but a different opinion should not cause damage to others, he added.

Pailin also countered the claim by an official at the Auditor General’s Office that PTT has not yet totally forfeited its rights over the pipeline. The executive said that the company has completely followed the Supreme Administrative Court’s order since December 22, 2008.

He also referred to an notification from the office in 2009 on this issue, which was dropped after the Court confirmed on March 10, 2009 that PTT followed through the order.

I learned it's not the different opinion that is causing damage it's more likely the revealed wrongdoings prior to that.
