Thaivisa is now testing Recommended topics

Featured Replies

We are currently testing social media improvements with better visibility of the social network sharing buttons, and we are also trying "recommended topics".

Testing of "recommended topics" will be turned on and off and be adjusted during the next 10 days or so.

George with all due respect it is just too much on an already bogged to the max site.

I know every complaint has been locked or deleted but if you do not accept feedback folks will vote with their feet

or add-ons & I do not think that is your desired goal.

So take it all in & decide....Don't lock every complaint out as if it is some form of slight against TV which it is not IMHO

Folks if they stay will end up taking measure that shut off more than the pop-ups which is not great for your advertisers yes?

Read some of the other threads, comments flying around, none of them compimentary.

Wait 10 days for what?

Just turn this crap off now, you know you can do it, give the public what they want.

Or is this what the latest bunch of Digital Pikeys on their fake Ed Visas recommended?

if you're referring to the pop up that's started appearing uninvited in the bottom right hand corner of my screen i can tell you it's annoying. please stop it.

I don't want "recommended topics"!!!!!!

Bye bye

yes...continuing the annoying pop-ups will cause a lot of us members/posters to visit TV less...if at all...

This on top of all the ads you have is irritating...

An deleting other threads critical of your "test" is a bit lame...

I have had 2 topics on this deleted. I again offer my feedback. It is annoying and a few other words describe it but I cannot mention them

Please stop it.

This one of my previous posts

I previously posted another topic about the popups now occurring on Thaivisa. It was polite and gave my feedback. This topic was replied to and had some likes. It has now been deleted. I accept your right to delete topics your company do not think are appropriate. As members I think that we have the right to offer feedback. I repeat my previous statement that I think that the popups are annoying.

It recommended for me the article I had just read - do I want to read it twice,

Then recommended I read about Kaffir Limes - I have not interest in Kaffirs or limes.

Now it recommends something about work permits, I haven't worked for over 15 years .

Useless and irritating is my conclusion.

turn the bloody thing off Im sick of em, that and the facebook pop up I already moaned once about it and the topic disappeared.

It pops up right where I keep my mouse for scrolling the page and blocks it.

It is way beyond annoying.

Does this forum not know how popular pop-up blockers are, and why?

While in the subject of UX, do away with having to click 3 times to view classifieds in full. Great for increasing site clicks but poor for user experience and why tv classifieds section is low on my priority. Go check out how simple baht sold does it.

Good that this topic is now open for discussion; I'm sure that it wasn't when topics complaining about the pop up were closed or deleted!

If this topic or others complaining about the pop ups had been left open then I would have complained here and not started my own, which was almost immediately deleted!

They seem to be switched off now; please keep it that way.

Must be something wrong with my browser. I haven't a clue what you are talking about. Haven't seen any advertisements or pop-ups for years.

Annoying as heck the Recommended Topics pop-ups....kinda like someone waving their hands in front of your face when you are trying to read something.

The man that invented the pop-up actually apologized to the world a few weeks ago. And now thaivisa has just adopted it. Quite fitting for a Thai forum seeing how the country continues to be going backwards.

Ah! this was happening yesterday, for a while, yes it's a darn nuisance.... keep it off please!

Is that irritating JS coloured bar at the top of all screens part of this "recommended topics" testing?

If so, please turn it off or at least give people an option not to see it. It's a complete PITA.

If you click on it one time it is gone for good for you. That's all I had to do and I never see it again.

You must have the same browser problem that I have. cheesy.gif.pagespeed.ce.HaOxm9--ZvY8zn8l
