Thousands flock to see first frost flowers on Doi Inthanon

CHIANG MAI: -- Dropping temperatures on Thailand's highest peak, Doi Inthanon, in Chiang Mai turned grasses and tree leaves into flower frosts and attracted several thousands of tourists flocking to see the natural phenomenon this morning.

Temperature was reported to fall below zero degrees at grass level, thus causing dews on grasses and tree leaves to turn frosts.

Meanwhile the Northern Meteorological Centre says overall temperatures in the North will be 18-23 degrees Celcius with light to heavy fogs in some areas in the morning.

But the temperatures will drop 1-2 degrees from November 25-28, it said.

Thousands. I do believe that. Probably not all at the same time. It is a spectacular place, having driven through that area. I have not yet been at the summit, and it will have to wait until late January, for me. I cannot handle crowds.
