Two more civilians arrested in connection with major bribery scam

There is a frustrating desire by some posters to give this story a "political" slant, I personally see it as something much more simple.

After years of corrupt indifference we now see some real action, some serious investigation with some real results. Yes it is one case but it most definitely is a start, maybe now the cynical nay sayers can take a back seat and wait to see what else transpires.

This present government may not be perfect but would any one of you prefer to go back to what we had?

I'll take my chances with this present government, on the face of it an excellent result, lets wait and see where it goes from here!

Disagree. The present government is a wolf in sheeps clothing. It could be worse than ever imagined. And no, I don't like the Shin clan..... but utter irresponsible people are making decisions they have no experience of and contributing to the financial losses this country can no longer endure..... and for personal gain, I SHALL add.

utter irresponsible people are making decisions they have no experience of and contributing to the financial losses this country can no longer endure

Do you think the previous government was better?

No. 'We' did not 'see'. We read yet more from the ongoing propaganda from the junta. Which you 'farang', nor Thais, come to that, have NO say in.

LOL! 'We' again. Even the citizenry has NO say and NEVER DID. Which is why this country is where it's at NOW huh.png

It all depends as to what you consider as propaganda, no doubt someone will take the 30 seconds to google it and let us know, but I prefer just to consider it as incorrect and politically slanted information designed to shape public opinion.

Based on that jpeg how can you consider the reporting of the arrest of an (allegedly) corrupt official as propaganda? Did the arrest not happen? Are the many millions of Baht and land papers found at his premises fictitious?

As for the people not having any say I don't believe you are correct, there are many millions of them who are privileged with a democratic vote to be used in the choice of who runs their country and economy.

The fact that for years those very same votes have been bought, manipulated and distorted does not reflect badly on them, rather than that it is more indicative of:

The immoral , unethical, totally selfish and cynical actions by the previous government, the final cost is still to be ascertained with the total likely to run in to near trillions of lost Baht to the population, the fact that they returned a minuscule percentage of their booty to somehow "justify" their actions is merely smoke and mirrors. The previous government abused the system shamelessly, for any of their followers to even mention democracy shows either a lack of understanding of the concept, or contempt for the process.

Negativity is your prerogative but it doesn't weigh much as an opinion...
