I plan to stay 77 days with Tourist Visa + extension : flight date problem ?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I go tomorrow to Thai Consulate in France for a Tourist Visa.

My plan is to stay 77 days with 60 days visa + extension. Flight booked already.

Filling the form I just realized that 77 days might be not OK :

_ for the consulate to give a 60 days visa

_ for for the flight company to let my get on board

Should I worry ?

Should I book now some cheap tickets to fake a flight out of thailand before the end of the 60 days ?

I feel so stupid to realize that just now and really need your advice wai2.gif

The airline could refuse you on the basis your visa is valid for just 60 days. It happens. They usually wouldn't count an extension, which in their eyes isn't guaranteed, as part of the visa period.

You could book a cheap AirAsia flight to Cambodia if you are worried about it. Or on the day you're flying make sure to be at the airport in plenty of time and if you have a problem book an AirAsia ticket there and then to satisfy them,

No. That only applies to visa exempt travelers.

When one has a visa, no return ticket is needed. Check yourself IATA regulations

Visitors who are visa exempt are required to hold documents for their next destination.

...

Warning:

- Visitors who are visa exempt but do not hold return/onward tickets could be refused entry.

That's my experience also.

I've been asked a few times when leaving Australia.

Often on a one way ticket, but with a Valid Visa.

Thanks

I was concerned too with the Consulate's requirements here in France wich might be a coinflip, so I've juste bought a ticket as a precaution.

I got a one way Surat thani -> Kuala lumpur for 1160 baht with AirAsia :)

but not refundable sad.png (kidding)

Thanks all

Just for information,

Consulate of Lyon looked at my tickets including tickets to Kuala Lumpur and didn't say any word, I didn't ask anything neither and got my visa.

Today after landing at swampy the immigration officer was -once again- enjoying a phone conversation while checking my visa and didn't ask for any ticket out of Thailand. He actually didn't say anything out of his phone conversation.

Same thing with air companies, British airways and Bangkok airways didn't ask about my tickets out of Thailand.

Nothing new here, just my politeness to close my own thread in case someone get here by googling.

Happy king's birthday days to you all. Good to be here again ❤️
